Looks like all the schools were open today, what a nightmare it must be for them right now. The news is reporting city buses, garbage collection, and plows are all backed up. Even the main thoroughfare through the middle of the city is yet to be plowed. Quite a punch this storm has packed, especially considering forecasts were for 4" total from this event, now we're passed 9".

It looks like about 6 to 7 inches here. It snowed all day but it was light until recently. Looking at the radar, it looks like it's going to end very soon but we have had a very heavy burst of snow for about the last hour or so. I think we may have gotten about 1.5 inches just in the last hour. I'm talking visibility at about 50 feet for awhile. lol I wonder how long this snowpack will last. Very cold temperatures for late March but a sun angle equal to mid September. Interesting battle. I wonder if there could be some record lows coming up with the snowpack, clear skies and cold airmass.

84.6" for the season at MSP--now number 5 on the all-time list. Amazing.

MSP had 1"+ of snowcover for 107 consecutive days (12/1/2010 through 3/17/2011)...that has to be close to a record.

Also, 119 total days this winter with 1"+ snowcover as of 3/22/2011, with more days to be added...that also has to be close to a record.

:snowman:

Not even a glazing of ice throughout this whole event, save for on my windshield. A disappointment, but being that its spring and we've had such an awesome winter...and the damage a big ice storm would cause...I'll live.

Wow, that was fast. Now you see it, now you don't.

10.6" at 645pm easily the best storm of the season, unless I'm forgetting one?

I'm not intimately aware of KW's luck with snowstorms this winter, but from the top of my head, I would think this is the biggest.

And yeah, that was fast. From a solid shield of moderate snow to impending flurries in about an hour.

Congrats on the snow fellas! :)

A couple of storms have popped up here just now, and I'm glad this particular one is just missing to the south.

lol, so close. I did 8 measurements and it could have easily gone either way. 5.9" or 6.0". Being the snow douche I am, I'll go with the 6". Great storm. Went according to plan, no hitchs, and got the higher end of my forecast range. Plus, by going with 6", I end my 2 year, 1 month 6" snowstorm drought. But barely. :scooter:

A nice late season snowfall event for us. Looks like 4-5" in the downtown Toronto core, but areas east of Toronto (Pickering, Whitby and Oshawa) have way less snow. And the sun is trying to peak out right now. LOL. I'm concerned that overnight temperatures may be lower than forecast due to the snow cover and clear skies. I wouldn't be surprised if tonight's low is around -13 to -14C.

I would have thought you guys got more. There were a few bands of 35 DBZ that tracked from Mississauga along the Lk Ontario shoreline that missed me by a bit. One thing I noticed is that there was only about 4" on the pavement because of the sun angle/initial warmth (was +2c up until early overnight). That may account for the difference, seeing as you live in the concrete jungle.

And yeah, sun out here too. That happens a lot when deformation zone pcpn departs. Shallow cloud deck I guess?

Slant sticker. ;)

Does this one get to you 60" for the season?
