CoastalWx
The north trend has begun. At least this is starting from the VA Capes, and not Cape May. Still a long shot, but hoping for something to make use of that cold.

CoastalWx
The inevitable snow bomb is going to be awesome. Just something to end out this month. With such a great winter...it would be a shame to end it on a crappy note. These next 2 weeks are gonna be chilly and absolutely useless. Might as well throw some moisture in and shock those who already busted out the Birkenstocks and plum smugglers.

There is still time to for me to up my current grade of B to a B+. I'd love a good 4-8" paste that sticks to everything and leaves about a 3 hour window for snapping photos. ORH_wxman
Looks like the longer range GFS was run from Kevin's basement. One big storm on the 28-29th and then another on the 31st-1st.

The GFS is trying to push west coast ridging again, and seems to be most aggressive with the MJO. Euro and Canadian are pretty consistent in keeping the troughing in the west...well at least at 00z anyways.
CoastalWx
let it go friends, let it go. LOL, better let the warmth go for a while, because it's going to be at least 10 days before any mild wx returns.

Yeah and even if the WC ridging never really comes back, its the big positive height anomaly over/near Hudson Bay that is really changing things up. A WC ridge though would certainly make it easier to get a coastal, but it can be had without it...just tougher...but this time of year you can cut something off on fairly short wavelength. I'd throw the caveat out that Monday could get a bit warm in some spots...esp in S and SE areas. Otherwise you'll have someone bump that post when its 50F+ on Monday in the warm sector. But other than that...yeah this is it for awhile on the mild temps.

They all show this too, which is nice to see. It's kind of a cool battle here. This is a fairly cold airmass that wants to push south, but we also have big time warmth over the southern Plains. Given the right dynamics in place, that storm next week could have a squall line ripping east off of HSE with tons of theta-e to rip back into the cold sector. I'll root for something since the overall airmass over the next 10 days or so will be rather cold. Monday could be mild in spots like you said, but nothing too enjoyable with the rain around. Tuesday will be sunny and will probably feel nice inside your car.
CoastalWx
Next week is still a long shot, but there isn't really anything else going on. GFS gave some of the higher spots in ORH county a little snow at the onset on Monday.

Temp rises of 15F in 30 minutes and 20F in one hour, with record highs around the region along with winds gusting over 40mph, is nothing

Well we have some wind folks, but 40-45mph is pretty ho hum and seen multiple times during the winter.

It's really been a fabulous February and March for those of us who had our fair share of snow in January. Skiing was great, lots of sun, no prolonged bitter cold blasts.
