Ah, that makes more sense, but I'm still confused.

If Booze Creek is immediately to your west, I can't figure out how you're much closer than a mile to the Potomac? (Sorry, it's the map geek in me...)

Its all good, I actually meant to Say Glen Echo and Cabin John, Bannockburn ridge is about 1 mile Due North, I can plot My house on Google Earth if you can show me How :P

So,

If you go to Google Earth, and Type in Glen Echo, you'll see Potomac river is SW porportionate to Glen Echo. Booze Creek Feeds into the Potomac.... its kind of a "Canyon" creek, because it gets so Tiny, yet the Land around it rises at least 50ft. Booze Creek is actually centered in Cabin John, But empties into"Feeder Creeks" in Glen Echo. Cabin John and Glen Echo have always been bitter rivals, so we're divided, and no one knows anyone from the "other side".

It feeds into the Potomac River to the East of the One Lane Bridge, which I believe Divides Cabin John From Glen Echo. Glen Echo Itself has a Different orientation to the Potomac than Cabin John/Bethesda, as the River "turns". So the River Shore is actually to my SW, but the River Itself extends to my West/West Northwest Horizonatally. Booze Creek Feeds into it to my NW, but I'm only about 500-700 yards from that point in Glen Echo.

Thats my Mothers House, where I'm keeping my Station actually. My dad moved to Gaithersburg, and his old Glen Echo House is now Mine :P I'm lucky. I would have kept my station with me, but I'd get better OBS from over here.

Dinner Obligations ftl. My Gf lives in Germantown, which is why I'm often up there.

Just making sure I have everything cleared up.

 You've got the whole county covered.

No wonder I was confused. I was talking about the station as indicated in the picture. I guess you've been talking about where you are living. I didn't realize they were different.

Oh, I thought surfaces that reflected heat (concrete/pavement/etc) caused the highest temps? Guess I don't know as much as I thought.

Would the current location be better than the roof overall? The roof is a Pain in the Ass when I go to change the batteries, I climb up there and its a tightrope walk.

None of those surfaces are any good. Grass is really the only way to go if you want to get accurate obs for temp/dew, etc. (except for the wind if there's a lot of objects around, which is what you'll usually get in a neighborhood).

So where is all this rain we are supposed to get today? I havent looked at much so I could be just assuming that this wont that bad but on radar it looks meh

It almost looks like we will get into the warm sector..with the possibility of some thundershowers.

But that wouldnt be till tomorrow night and sunday with the warm sector of air. Front is pretty far to the south now over North Carolina. I thought it was to be a slow crawl northward?

NWS still has us at 100% of rain today and its barely raining here and radar looks meh.

43 degrees here now

Was raining near BWI when I woke up, the precip has shifted north a little bit since then. I guess the front to our south shifted north some?

Whats the chances the precip shifts back south?

The general forcing along the front is where you see the precip. shield, but E/NE winds are damming the cold air at the surface.

So to answer my question - what are the chances the precip shifts back south into central MD?

Looks okay to me, any breaks in the clouds could make these showers even heavier.

Winds are out of the ESE now.

it's still going to rain, just not a mod all day rain
