Just went thru that storm here in Montclair. Certainly a memorable 7 miuntes for sure. It was 56 degrees then started raining then a quick transition over to small hail that grew up to pea sized with a few marble sized mixed in. Lots of CG lightning and loud thunder. Then as the hail tapered off it rained for another minute then turned to SNOW for about 2 minutes. Big heavy sloppy snow. Temp got down to 41. Ended and back up to 46 in minutes. Pretty awesome and I guess the hail event would classify it as severe. Not much wind.

:lmao: thats crazy on both statements

nice write up this am. from david lesher

Apr 02 - Snow commenced again at 3AM with a heavy snow squall with thunder before daybreak, diminishing to a steady light snow during the morning. Moderate to often heavy snow commenced late morning and continued through mid afternoon, gradually diminishing to mostly light and moderate snow by early evening, then light snow through the evening. Heavy snow squalls during the day often dropped visibility to near zero. Thunder was heard several times, including once during the evening when the event was winding down. One of the most interesting weather days in the nearly ten years that daily obs have been taken here, particularly in view of the fact that the NWS forecast never mentioned the possibility of it, even during the height of the storm.

Getting some great lightning in the NW sky. Thunder says its 3-4 miles away. 47 degrees, after a high of 57.

was just about to post that those little popcorn cells have some lightning in them.
