OceanStWx
Being so close to the DMX 88D you can see some features you otherwise couldn't. Here is a five frame series of volume scans, showing the RFD importance in spinning up the tornado that dropped just north of Winterset. No evidence of an RFD here. Now you can see a notch and anticyclonic curl as the RFD starts to bow precip in the hook region out. It is at this time that the meso really wraps up. As the RFD starts to wrap into the inflow the meso tightens up even further. As the RFD starts to cut off inflow, the meso weakens and begins the occluding process.
