JamieOber
Watching live shot from Waikiki and it doesn't appear that the rise is too significant. The third wave was the devastating one in Japan, need to have that pass. Edit: The tsunami expert is saying the size of the first wave is "disturbing". Ellinwood
apparently, the 1st wave will not be the biggest with this tsunami.. They said the first wave COULD or COULD NOT be the largest wave. However, in the Hawaii area it usually isn't the largest.
catoctin wx
why do they not seem to have any camera's on the north or west side of the island? Seems that Honolulu is not a very good place to be watching for this
Derecho!
why do they not seem to have any camera's on the north or west side of the island? Seems that Honolulu is not a very good place to be watching for this Because that's where the media is to begin with, and they're not very bright. That's also why you're seeing endless pointless interviews with Americans who were in Tokyo, rather than reporting about Sendai, where nobody in the international media is based. North Balti Zen
More crying wolf I guess? Terrible post with no understanding of the uncertainty of the dynamics associated with this danger. If people are warned leave, and nothing happens, no big deal. If people are not warned, don't leave, and something happens, catastrophe. This kind of attitude is just an absolute fail. OceanStWx
This isn't a snowstorm, you can't scream bust with a Tsunami. Can't take chances with events like this. I mean they were forecasting about a 6 foot tsunami in Hawai'i, right? Seems pretty spot on. Am I the only one just fascinated by the draw down in water level? Seeing that much exposed land off Waikiki is amazing. That is normally a pretty narrow beach, but 100 yards of exposed reef is incredible.
