The infamous SNE lawn thread

Damage In Tolland

Recommended Posts

Cool, let's agree on the Ranch. It's 2 hrs for me but I have family near by and can make a trip of it. It's about 90mins for Joe, he'll have to suck it up. Let's work on a date and get it planned. Last week in June is good for me, that Tues or Wed??

Most any day can work for me provided I have enough advance warning. Probably about 1 hour for me. The Ranch sounds good.

Not that my grass comes close to rivaling the golf course lawns so many of you have, but I must say that the rain and cutting at the highest setting has really done wonders for what I've got to work with here. Even in a densely shaded area that I cleared (raking decades of old leaves away in the process), a little seed and a little lime have done enough to show some good progress. In fact, dropped a second round of seed on it yesterday to help fill in any missing areas (not sure if that's wise, detrimental, or a waste of grass seed). Hopefully will have good weather and time to mow on Saturday.

Dianthus Barbatus (sweet william) one of my favorites really popping in the gardens now at the house............meadow daisies are out, shastas next week. One of the best years I can ever remember for perennial gardens.

Tomatoes are looking awesome, basil, german and lemon thyme look fantastic, rosemary still behind last year we could use a little heat for the herbs, they love it hot!!!

Everything has exploded. Veggies are going nuts. Hopefully some tomatoes by early July.

Yeah, I have a few fruits on my Cherry Tomatoes. They should be ripe in 2 weeks or so, very early for these parts. Consistent sunshine and temperatures in the 80s is allowing the garden to advance faster than normal...my peas are also setting fruits, second round of arugula/mixed lettuce should be ready in about a week. Good stuff!

Another organic lawn success story, took this lawn over this year, had been drained of microbes, no earthworms, heavy heavy synthetics.........now its full, getting healthy, and the long road to synthetic free beauty has begun, not perfect but getting there. Crappy phone pic.

When the hell is pollen season gonna end this year? I mean it's still ongoing. Heavy heavy pollen all over everything. WTF?

Must be bad down there with little rain. I'm sneezing like a mofo even right after that rain ended...yesterday morning. Pine pollen is starting now. Yellow coating over everything FTL.
