Damage In Tolland
Just convinced two more clients to go all organic, its an easy decision, especially if you have a brain. Synthetics=Premature Balding I spoke to a few people around here who have used organic..and they said they were not pleased with results...it takes too long for any kind of results..and most importantly..the organic stuff doesn't kill weeds ..Luckily they switched back over this year

Logan11
My back lawn is covered with pretty dandelions. I cut it for the first time the other day and they sent new yellow flowers up already. HoarfrostHubb
Mowed my front lawn (well, most of it) today. That was fun! Not really any bugs at the time Still numerous dead spots I think from my dog. Is it too late to lime?

Allenson
Our first dadelions of the season bloomed this past week. They're pretty and the bees like them. Otherwise, the grass has greened up and is starting to grow. I'll have to mow some spots with the push mower sometime between now and next weekend if I get the chance.... Haven't put the belly-mower on the tractor yet though. Still haulin' some firewood out of the woods and the mower-deck just gets in the way rumbling along the uneven surface of the woods so I'm holding out for now. Prob'ly get it on next weekend. SJonesWX
Epic disaster in my side yard. nearly 4,000 square feet of what used to be lawn is now just dirt. last year i couldn't figure out why the lawn completely died. last week i pulled up a shovelful of dirt, and in that single shovel there were dozens of grubs. Have now completely roto-tilled the whole area. put down some GrubX. will rake it out and have it hydroseeded. death to grubs.

Brewbeer
We need some rain here outside of Springfield. I live on a sandbox and the soil is definitely starting to dry out, especially along the edge of the driveway and street. Doesn't seem to be any soakers on the horizon, either. I used GrubX last June, however over the weekend I found an area of my yard that the birds started to tear apart...sure enough more grubs! I can't seem to beat them, I've heard dylox is the ticket when you find them (like we just did), but GrubX to prevent them....

The other cool thing is that when the birds take the Dylox tainted grubs back to feed their young you'll be helping to wipe out a new generation of song birds. Stupid noisy songs. nzucker
That whole Silent Sprint thing was BS We have plenty of chemically enhanced birds LOL. Aren't you a science teacher or something? Better living through chemistry, right? In all seriousness, terrible what humans do to the environment to keep up appearances...the biggest gas-guzzlers, the most chemically altered artificial properties, the most processed foods wrapped in Styrofoam packaging. For all the beauty in humanity and this world, sometimes I'm just horrified...and scared!

For all the beauty in humanity and this world, sometimes I'm just horrified...and scared! Rachel Carson did fudge quite a bit of her work. I am a pretty pro-environment person. I try to minimize my impact of the globe where I can. It does take effort, though. For my lawn I rarely use chemical treatment. I have no clue on how to get rid of grubs without using chemicals other than the milky spore method that takes 2-3 years. I would not mind getting rid of the lawn entirey and having it plantings, etc. At this point in my life that is not happening for a while
