stormitecture
Who'da thunk....I'd actually make it in a tornado warned cell today. I did get to see the meso. a tad too dark to see the actual rotation, but the lowering was distinct. I got under the meso a tad later (sitting on river road near the pepco offices. Great little presentation. Got a bit of lightning, some tiny hail...pea or less...and a lowering. Not bad for not planning that. Add: still haven't gone down to the Potomac River for a view...probably really getting swamped now. Keeping an eye on the rockville spot right now...radar wise. but not rushing off just yet. Very cool... wish I could have been there. Had to show the condo to someone today, but the person effin flaked out at the last minute, so I stayed home for nothing. And today it was mostly by chance. I really just stuck to the river for flooding footage (which I haven't actually gotten much since I started running around catching up to the meso).I really wish it had been daylight out. You guys would have seen a nice show on the stream. Very nice base structure.

stormitecture
Did you see/report any damage out there? Nothing to report, everything too weak or didn't present. I wouldn't doubt the lowering at the meso was rotating, but it was so dark, and I was fiddling with the camera, trying to get the ISO adjusted...still have much to learn on my camera. I don't see any sort of signs of wind anywhere along the path of the radar indicated rotation. Still sitting on River. If White's Ferry had been opened, I'm sure I would have skipped across to VA much sooner.

stormitecture
I think I'm just going to go home. I'll get shots of the river in the morning, hopefully (assuming I wake up and go early enough). I will double check the expected river levels too. I suspect they'll peak tonight, but I'm not real good at know that stuff off the top of my head. BethesdaWX
What kind of weather station do you have? I am looking to get one. I have a Vantage Pro 2+. It took me several months to save up the $$$ to buy it lol, but its well worth it in my view. The station also comes with an optional data package/software, so you can load your Station onto WXbug Live network, and see more detailed OBS for the station though your computer. Its a proffessional station, runs off solar during the day, and battery during the night, measures everything out there. I like it I installed mine on the roof for the highest wind readings/sunlight, so if you want to do that, keep in mind the batteries need to be changed every 5-10 months depending on the amount of sunlight you get, so you'll have to go up there and change it yourself. http://www.davisnet.....asp?pnum=06162 There are other, less expensive versions that are very good as well.
