Huh, interesting.

If you are a non-member, apparently, you are subjected to ads now. In fact, many key words in our posts have been converted to links that fire off applets that are advertisements for various industry sectors. When you log in, they disappear.

Not sure I agree with this practice.

Eh, seems like a fairly innocuous practice. If it helps sustain AmWx and it is limited in this way fine. I think it shows that those currently at the helm are enterprising. Good for them.

Yea, well ... just remember, you are backed into endorsing x-y-z then.

I'm getting a bit interested in Tuesday overnight into Wednesday now...in terms of elevational wet snow. It is marginal at best, but could surprise.

Certainly possible. I'm staying conservative now with 58.

Smart, as the conservative approach usually is. I think 60s are a good bet in Fairfield County at least. We got to about 65 last month, so hitting 70-72 wouldn't be all that surprising. It is mid-March after all and an extra hour or two of sunshine under an upper level ridge makes a big difference.

Really? Don't have any of that on my browser (FireFox). Perhaps it depends on one's browser or malware?

The ads are only for guests...not regular members that are logged in. And yes it is to support forum operational costs without having to ask for excessive donations every fall. Many forums do this now. If you have Firefox with NoScript you can actually avoid them in guest mode as well. If you're logged in...no worries. :)

Yeah on a day 5 forecast I don't like going more than +/- 10 over climo generally. In this situation... if that strong cold front north sinks a bit too far south... or we get too much cloudiness we could have trouble.

46/26

seasons are changing pretty quickly now, really nice having it light out past 7!

3-6 for ski country tues night?

Down to 41.9/30 here...should get below freezing tonight. Spring is not far though, already noticing some buds on trees in the City. It's amazing how the seasonal change accelerates as you get into mid-March.

Hoping for one last snowfall in late March/early April, but hope is fleeting. Looks like warmth dominates for a while. Sad to say goodbye to a beautiful winter, too bad the second half sucked.

And my per visit cost (not including gas, waffles, etc) at the mountain is down to $6.94

Skiing for less than $7.00 per day?

Nahhhhhh winter ended a month and a half ago

That would be sweet if wa wa could stay open for thur or fri/ skiing with full sunshine in the 60's would be fantastic! Love spring skiing.

You can tell winter is dying when you guys get into it over daylight savings time.

Normal spring day, 51. White cliff stuffed with golfers

meh, high of 45 here. Average mid-march day, with some skiing.

Forget the Enter the Haggis bit... Misread dpmething

Rockin the bagpipes

Spent the afternoon at Wachusett rippin up the corn. Actually went on 2 trails I had never been on due to the lack of lighting at night. Awesome fun but legs are mush

No lines, up and down. Up and down

More winter fun this week

Were you there at like 5:15? I thought I recognized you from the pics posted of you on here from gtg's but maybe not.

It was a great night for skiing.

I was there from 4PM until around 6 or so... just a few quick runs. Was mostly on Conifer and 10th...

Big stupid looking white helmet... was with my 9 year old son on his board

Did you see the girl with the cone head hair? LOL

Incidentally, I know it's early...but it ALMOST seems like the elephant woke up and is parking his fat azz over us for a spell. Fine with me. I like it warm anytime but winter.

Yeah, but the quality of this February/March is definitely detracting from the character of the overall winter. Sad to see such an historic year end in a bland manner. I think my grade is down to A-, very disappointed with how the pattern broke down after the January 27th MECS.

GFS looks warm until blocking returns March 23rd or so, the period that JB and HM seem to be highlighting for colder temperatures in the East and a potential late season snowfall.

Yeah I think it was you then. There was a young kid with a board with you.

Got in like 18-20 runs in 3.5 hours. Conifer, Challenger, and Hitchcock mainly.
