BOX seems to have it a bit warmer...

WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY...THERE ARE SOME DISCREPANCIES IN THE MODELS

FOR THIS TIME PERIOD GENERALLY RELATED TO THE PATH OF THE LOW

PRESSURE SYSTEM. THE ECMWF HAS A LOW PRESSURE MOVING UP THE EASTCOAST AND OVER SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND WEDNESDAY WITH A SECOND LOWMOVING ACROSS SOUTHERN CANADA AND BRINGING A COLD FRONT ACROSS THE

REGION LATE THURSDAY OR EARLY FRIDAY. THE GFS ONLY SHOWS THE LOW

MOVING ACROSS SOUTHERN CANADA AND MOVES THE COLD FRONT ACROSS LATE

WEDNESDAY INTO THURSDAY. THE ECMWF HAS SOME SUPPORT FROM THE

CANADIAN EARLY IN THE MEDIUM RANGE...SO WENT WITH A SOLUTION MORE

HEAVILY WEIGHTED TOWARDS THE ECMWF. THIS RESULTED IN CHANCE POPS

ACROSS THE AREA. PRECIPITATION WILL BE MAINLY RAIN EXCEPT PERHAPS

IN THE FAR NORTHWEST INTERIOR DURING THE OVERNIGHT PERIODS WHERE

RAIN MAY CHANGE TO A MIX OR ALL THE WAY OVER TO SNOW.

But I like your ideas better.

Wow, I wasn't even paying attention to this but it may actually snow this week late Wednesday into Thursday. I just saw the 18z GFS and it prompted me to look at the 12z ensembles, and the idea has merit.

That's the one Will has been harping about for about a week. :)

The 12z EC is possibly a few inches up here...especially for the higher terrain.

The old Day 6 threat was tomorrow (well at least on a couple of runs). This one has crept up over the last 3-4 days, but it's been the euro teasing us. Maybe snow up your way.

What frustrating is that the low for Thursday originally looks great with cold in the northeast, and a nice high pressure. However, the flow across the nrn US, floods us with warmer air. That, and it's current track brings it over sne. It's not far from something more promising, but I'm not sure if the patttern supports it.

Well maybe I exaggerated a bit with the "week" wording, but I thought that's the same general threat Will (maybe you too) had been looking at since midweek. I suppose it has a chance for a little snow up here, but unfortunately a lot will probably have to go right for it to occur. Like you, I don't like the rotted airmass preceding the system. At least I'm not emotionally invested in winter anymore this season.

lol looks great. I'd hate to plan an April 15 trip or so next year and have crappy conditions lol

Don't forget, it's not Hartford in April, it's 61N. The elevation alone will keep you in the dry powder. If you have the chance go. Here's one of Alyeska my friend took a few weeks ago flying home after a day of fun. He'll be flying us into the goods in a few weeks. Being air mobile is the way to go.

Awesome dude. If I can get decent airfare from NYC I'm there. I have relatives in Anchorage too.

That's so sweet. I'm very jealous dude haha. Flying around touring big Alaskan peaks... that's what its all about. The coastal snowfall and snowpack is always amazing; its hard to comprehend how much snow is on the ground even in the lower elevation treed areas. Its just feet upon feet of snow from the Sierra to BC's Coastal Range, up into Valdez and AK.

Why NYC, I usually leave from BDL. BDL to ANC roundtrip $525 this trip.

Yep. Typical Spring weather.

Wow that's not a bad price to go to Alaska. What airline company are you using? I've been thinking that Alaska is next on my list of places to go... been out west to UT/CO/NM/WY and Whistler, BC too, but I think Alaska would be in a whole league of its own.

And yeah, its been snowing (albeit lightly and wet) for a bit this evening, but no new accumulation since the coating this morning melted. Mountain was refreshed with a solid inch or two last night. BTV calling for 2-4" tonight and tomorrow.

Delta. If you go to a site like Expedia frequently you can get a sense of the range of prices for any airfare. At first I was getting a lot $650-$700 fares but I kept trying at diferent times of the day and then hit into the 525 deal. It's been a great Winter and it continues to deliver, I've enjoyed all your pictures. Glad to know there are others that live to ski and ski to live.
