03/08/2011 RED RIVER TX NWS STORM SURVEY

AN EF1 TORNADO TOUCHED DOWN ABOUT 8 MILES WEST OF

CLARKSVILLE TEXAS...AND MOVED EAST NORTHEAST TO A POINT

ABOUT 3 MILES EAST NORTHEAST OF CLARKSVILLE. DAMAGE PATH

WAS 11 MILES LONG AND 225 YARDS WIDE. ABOUT 20 HOMES

SUFFERED MILD TO MODERATE DAMAGE ON THE NORTH SIDE OF

CLARKSVILLE AND IN THE COUNTY. NUMEROUS TREES WERE

SNAPPED AND UPROOTED... FEMA TRAILER DESTROYED...AND

LARGE TRUCK OVERTURNED. TORNADO LIFTED ABOUT 535 PM CST.

Fairly busy day in the end considering the time of year, still time for additional things to form but thus far we have 14 Prelim Tornadoes, 1 hail report and 65 high wind reports, so looks a busy day all being said!

Of course several of those tornadoes are the same tornado but still even taking that into account there has been some decent reports today.

PORTION OF ROOF REMOVED...STORAGE BUILDING AND AWNING

DESTROYED. SEVERAL TREES BLOWN DOWN AND LARGE BRANCHES

SNAPPED. DAMAGE PATH APPROXIMATELY 1 MILE AND WIDTH 30

YARDS. TORNADO RATED AS EF1.

TORNADO TOUCHED DONW IN NEAR CEDAR LAKE ROAD DAMAGING

SEVERAL MOBILE HOMES. ONE MOBILE HOME WAS ROLLED AND

DESTROYED WITH MINOR TO MODEATE TO SEVERAL OTHER MOBILE

HOMES. SEVERAL LARGE LIMBS SNAPPED.PATH LENGTH 0.25 MILES

PATH WIDTH 30 YARDS. TORNADO RATED AS UPPER END OF EF1

TO NEAR DAVIS LANDING ROAD. APPROXIMATELY 30 HOMES

DAMAGED IN LAKE VILLAGE SUBDIVISION. SOME HOMES HAD

PORTIONS OF ROOFING DECK REMOVED. OTHER DAMAGE NEAR LEWIS

STABLES...ONE HOME WITH TOTAL ROOF LOSS AND PARTIAL ROOF

THEODORE ALABAMA TORNADO DAMAGE...

THE FOLLOWING IS A STORM SURVEY REPORT REGARDING THE DAMAGE THAT

OCCURRED EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING IN THEODORE ALABAMA.

* EVENT: SOUTH MOBILE COUNTY ALABAMA TORNADO

* EVENT DATE: WEDNESDAY MARCH 10, 2011

* EVENT TIME: 8:40 AM CST

* EVENT LOCATION: THEODORE ALABAMA

* INTENSITY: EF SCALE...2 (THREE SECOND WIND GUST OF 111 TO 135 MPH)

* DAMAGE PATH LENGTH...APPROX 1800 FEET (0.34 MILES)

* DAMAGE PATH WIDTH...FORTHCOMING

* INJURIES: NONE

* FATALITIES: NONE

* DISCUSSION/DAMAGE:

A NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DAMAGE SURVEY TEAM FOUND THAT THE DAMAGE

THAT OCCURRED IN THEODORE ALABAMA AT AROUND 8:40 AM ON WEDNESDAY,

MARCH 10, 2011 RESULTED FROM A TORNADO WITH A MAXIMUM EF NUMBER OF

TWO WITH WIND GUSTS OF 111 TO 135 MPH.

THE TORNADO FIRST TOUCHED DOWN AS AN EF1 IN A SMALL NEIGHBORHOOD

BETWEEN SONYA DRIVE AND FIRETOWER ROAD WEST. THE TORNADO THEN

TRACKED TOWARD THE NORTHEAST...REACHING EF2 INTENSITY AT THE

INTERSECTION OF THEODORE DAWES ROAD AND OLD PASCAGOULA ROAD. THE

TORNADO THEN MAINTAINED ITS EF2 INTENSITY FOR ABOUT 800 FEET ALONG

OLD PASCAGOULA ROAD.

THE DAMAGE INCLUDED EXTENSIVE ROOF A CANOPY DAMAGE AT A BP

STATION...SEVERE DAMAGE TO HARDWARE STORE...DAMAGE TO A POPEYES

RESTAURANT AND SHOPPING CENTER...HOUSE DAMAGED...A U-HAUL TRUCK

FLIPPED INTO DITCH...MOBILE HOMES FLIPPED OVER...TREES DOWN...AND

TOPS RIPPED OFF TREES.
