Jebman
Man I wish I was on RT 7 right now so bad!!! WORST of it is, I had a chance to go earlier today - but thought it would be too damn warm Classic instance of You Snooze, You LOSE This is just breaking my heart into 9472840275 billion pieces right now DAMN DAMN DAMN IT! I could have been on RT 9 right now luxuriating in the heavy snow, exulting in a jebwalk blasting my favorite Bee Gees songs and digging fresh snow ---- But I SNOOZED ----- misread the modeling and thought it would be all rain over Leesburg with upper 30s right now This is precisely why I can't forecast my way out of a wet paper bag and it is why I have had so many heartbreaks in my life - My timing is ALWAYS off, EVERY TIME. FOOK This was my LAST CHANCE to see snow this winter and I epically BLEW IT completely to hell - I'll never get over how I actually had a chance to go up there today.........but said the heck with it - too much warm advection, dewpoints are too high, CAA won't really kick in til about 11pm and by then the precip will be in New England. Man this just breaks my poor little heart for all time

Scuddz
I'm about 30 seconds away from throwing somebody under the bus for removing my "Western suburbs may have to deal with some icy roads" from my forecast. But, I was referencing more of a flash freeze following the rain than snow, and I'm a good team player so I'm going to keep my mouth shut on the matter. Jebman
Very light rain, getting real windy, cloud deck has lifted way way up - Can you say massive midlevel drying? Watch that dewpoint plummet straight into the single digits

derecho
Gonna sound crazy right now, but I wouldn't rule out a quick burst of snow at the back end west of rt 15 after midnight. Of course no accumulation. Rt 15 does seem the boundary, still all rain with an occasional flake.
MD Snow
Visiting my in-laws over in centreville, Md on the eastern shore. Temp was 60 around 7PM it's 45 now...pretty sweet little drop.
Ian
click on "Animate" nice back building going on in west central VA http://www.marylandw...m/klwxstate.php that should be right under the 500 vort after the stuff on its front end. http://www.nco.ncep.noaa.gov/pmb/nwprod/analysis/namer/nam/00/images/nam_500_000m.gif most of that stuff should be frozen in one way or another i'd think unless well east maybe

Jebman
WHOA!!! NNE Wind Gust to 34 mph!!! Refreshing wind chills!! Not bad for early March!!! : RT 7 into RT 9 is an incredible place - I have driven that way SO MANY TIMES since July 2008 - and I can't even begin to count how many times I start seeing snow on the ground near Dulles Airport then the areal coverage increases along RT 7 ESPECIALLY WEST OF THE RT 7 SKYWAY ---- WOW what an excellent place to live!!! Visibilities must be ZERO with snowflakes blowing all over the place right now!!!!! I love RT 9 from the very bottom of my snow weenie heart - I would gladly and with tears sell all my friends to the Libyan regime FOR LIFE, just for five minutes on RT 9 right now - Can you even begin to imagine all the snowflakes blowing sideways in N winds blasting gusts to over 35 mph!!!!! With absolutely REFRESHING wind chills in the teens and single digits!!!!!!!!!!

Ian
funny, I glanced at the 18Z NAM and nearly fell off my chair thinking "now why is it we're not going to see some snow out of this?" since it wasn't in anyone's forecast we'll see plenty of time to do a 10/11 on us! doubt it would be much around these parts other than some snizzle/light sleet... but i guess it's better than all rain once you get toward the end of the season. the storm did have the 10/11 last minute south trend that a few have had going against the larger north trend grain. maybe last week's "severe threat" should have been a sign.
