Temps peaked about 25 minutes ago at 56. Now the wind has shifted from SSE to WNW and we've lost 5 degrees already.

Same here. According to KOKV, wind has shifted to the NW, and my temp here at my house has dropped 8 degrees within the past hour.

Just curious, where did you find traffic cams in West Virginia? I don't see any listed there.

Maybe he meant WU Cams of which there are many ?

You can look on this link : Expand to any area and clink on "Webcams" http://www.wunderground.com/wundermap/?lat=39.14763&lon=-78.95169&zoom=10

They are few and far between, but there are some there more toward the southern end. Look on map view and you will see the dots.

Yeah, I know about those of which mine is on there too...:) . I've never seen any official traffic cams from WVDOT though. I heard they were working on it.

there is one down off 77 in Bluefield, WV and then another one at the state line on I 64 with Va/WV, but those are the only two I seen. I wish they put one at least near Hazleton, WV off i 68 and one near Ghent and Beckley area

We have a MD:

http://www.spc.noaa..../md/md0194.html

mcd0194.gif

THE NEED FOR A WATCH STILL APPEARS UNLIKELY...BUT TRENDS WILL

CONTINUE TO BE MONITORED FOR THE POSSIBILITY OF AN INCREASING SEVERE

THREAT THIS AFTERNOON.

A SURFACE LOW IS IN THE PROCESS OF FORMING ALONG A SURFACE FRONT TO

THE LEE OF THE SOUTHERN APPALACHIANS...AS A FAIRLY VIGOROUS SHORT

WAVE IMPULSE LIFTS NORTHEASTWARD OUT OF THE EASTERN GULF STATES.

THE DEEPENING LOW CENTER APPEARS LIKELY TO GRADUALLY MIGRATE ACROSS

THE CAROLINA PIEDMONT TOWARD THE DANVILLE VA AREA BETWEEN NOW AND

20-21Z...PRECEDED BY A 50-60 KT SOUTHERLY 850 MB JET CORE ACROSS

CENTRAL/EASTERN NORTH CAROLINA AND EASTERN VIRGINIA. AN INFLUX OF

MOISTURE /CHARACTERIZED BY PRECIPITABLE WATER IN EXCESS OF 1.25

INCHES/ IS ONGOING ALONG THIS AXIS...BUT WITH THERMODYNAMIC PROFILES

LARGELY SATURATED THROUGH A DEEP LAYER...AND TENDING TOWARD MOIST

ADIABATIC...DESTABILIZATION IS VERY WEAK.

HOWEVER...THIN SPOTS/BREAKS IN CLOUD COVER WILL ALLOW FOR SOME WARM

SECTOR BOUNDARY LAYER HEATING AND DESTABILIZATION THIS AFTERNOON.

EVEN THOUGH CAPE MAY NOT EXCEED A COUPLE HUNDRED J/KG ...COUPLED

WITH MID/UPPER FORCING FOR UPWARD VERTICAL MOTION...IT MAY BE

SUFFICIENT TO SUPPORT DEEPENING CONVECTIVE DEVELOPMENT... AND

PERHAPS A FEW THUNDERSTORMS. IF THIS DOES OCCUR...POTENTIAL FOR

DAMAGING WIND GUSTS/ISOLATED TORNADOES WILL INCREASE...GIVEN THE

HIGH BOUNDARY LAYER MOISTURE CONTENT AND RELATIVE HUMIDITY OF THE

BOUNDARY LAYER...IN THE PRESENCE OF STRONG TO EXTREME LOW-LEVEL

SHEAR.

-----

Though I don't know where we're going to get breaks in the clouds...

That cloud deck looks pretty solid from here it has to be said, still thats pretty interesting outlook to read, will have to watch in case any breaks can occur.

Also I too wouldn't be shocked to see some slight backend snow thrown in for good measure!

This storm is doing a good job of "pulling down" cold air. I lost 7 degrees in 30 minutes during a heavier shower earlier. Rain lightened up and the temp leveled off. Now, another downpour has moved in, and temps have started plummeting again, another 3 degrees in the past 15 minutes.

45 and falling, with moderate rain.

I wish I was in bethesda right now, germantown got shafted pretty good.

this area also sucks for wind, unlike my bethesda home, which is funny considering the elevation here is 550ft.

Shafted how? There's plenty of rain there. I doubt anyone in the area are getting any real winds or anything from this.

meaning the "heavy" stuff, moderate rain yes, but nothing more.

Sister called and told me it was pouring back at my place, also mentioned a gusty NW wind blowing the rain into sheets...nothing like that here, not even close.

I live in a family of weather weenies :P
