Stevo6899
This is the weirdest setup I have seen in awhile. You often get lows riding up a cold front but this thing is so slow to progress eastward. Funny how detroit is in the donut hole. Makes me feel better when mother nature doesnt discriminate between rain and snowstorm when it comes to the donut hole. OHweather
Where are the OH posters? Eastern half of the state gets a dumping. We're building an arc for the 2-3" of rain the NAM prints out before the changeover.
on_wx
Don't even get worked up about it. It's one model. Complete garbage until further notice. Besides, verbatim, KW would miss a lot of it. Real tight gradient. Lord, I ain't worked up
Powerball
0.27" safely all snow at KDET. In comparison (a testament to the tight gradient) KPTK (Pontiac, MI) only see 0.09".

And by the time it gets here the bullseye will be over my backyard.. It will be interesting to see it unfold wherever it ends up. Been a while since we have seen one of these. snowstormcanuck
BUFKIT "only" spits out about 0.95" as snow. Tight gradient with the low resolution of those maps can be deceiving. Still good for 9-13". RGEM time.

snowstormcanuck
not even close NAM will be all by itself soon If you remember, the 12z RGEM was acutally a good hit, so this is a step back. I think the crazy 18z NAM run the day before an event came late today.

Chicago WX
NAM says it shouldn't be raining here right now. Oopsie. No sense in sugar coating it, but the NAM hasn't been very good this winter. It's had its moments, but...
Powerball
Maybe some RUC fantasy coming up? 00z RUC already looks fun through 24hr. 30-35dbz over us (half inch per hour rates), 1012mb low just south of Cleveland and 1-2" just NW of us.
Chicago WX
A little odd to me, but LAF didn't report an hourly ob at 9:54 looking at wunderground...yet has intra-hour obs after that time. Anyway, highly doubt we get close to an inch of rain, nevertheless higher amounts that the models kept advertising for here. Good for us.
