Yeah, just checked the forecast they said 2cm tonight, and there is 2cm on the ground now

But hey, what else is new

need a horror story?

EC predcited 2 inches of snow and then a heavy rainfall warning in the upper ottawa valley.

the model consensus clearly showed 12-18 inches possible, but of course the RGEM was way warm and against the other guidance up there.

by this morning, 15cm had fallen and EC inexplicably continued the heavy rainfall warning at 11AM with no mention of snow accums lol.

finally at around 130pm they 'changed' the rainfall warning to a WSW, after in excess of 8 inches of snow had fallen.

the new forecast at 330pm was for additional snow accums of 8 inches.

therefore indeed 12-18 inches of snow will fall, and local areas im sure to 20 inches......after EC called for 2....but the worst part was continuing the heavy rainfall warning with 8 inches of snow on the ground and ongoing snowstorm.

probably one of their worst storms in recent times up there and EC totally missed it....not a single drop of rain has fallen there.....brutal.

Wow, what a disaster of a forecast. Just plain awful. Good times for snow lovers up there though. :)

lol, yeah, I saw that. I guess it's better they busted like that in a sparsely populated area of the province.

well that is true, but there are a lot of towns up the river from ottawa, i know quite a few people from there or who have relatives up there....its the 'country' outside ottawa if you know what i mean.. plus the army base in pettawawa.

just a terrible forecast but what gets me is continuing the heavy rainfall with no mention of snow with 8 on the ground and SN+....and yet they failed to adjust the forecast at 5AM and 11AM .....and the fact we are talking maybe 40-50cm in spots.

I wonder if there's a lack of snow spotters up there. Maybe they were unaware?
