Chicago-

That is the bluffs doing that. They sit 500ft above the city. Official readings are taken at the airport which sits right near the river and Lake Onalaska. NWS is on top of the bluff. Airport sat at 32F all night.

Makes sense. Thanks.

Getting Clay Matthews blitzed ATM. Me FTL :arrowhead:

Got a quick slushy coating overnight when heavier returns went over... All rain @ 5am with heavier returns down south.. those must have moved in around 5:45 as it went to hearing sleet pinging the windows.. to lazy to get up and see if any snow was mixed in until I heard the pingers stopped at 6:15.. To my surprise it was all snow just starting up.. wisconsinwx - FTW.. Congrats man.

Light stuff starting..

Clay Matthews with a bead on the QB about 5 mins later.

Just insane out there now @ 6:45 Its like down feathers are just being unleashed.

Thanks Bow! You just have to believe! When we're that close to freezing, anything can and will happen. Many times, you have good reason to be pessimistic. I guess it wasn't here though.

Revised snowfall accumulation prediction for Toronto: 0.

You're going too far off the deep end. LOL.

My revised prediction:

Lake Ontario to Bloor St. : Trace to 1"

Midtown Toronto to Highway 401: 1-2"

Highway 401 to Steeles Ave: 2-3"

Vaughan/Markham (York Region): 3-4"

I agree with your thoughts here.. Maybe a little less.

Trace to an inch: to Hwy 401

1-2 : north to Markham

2-3: Markham to Barrie

Nowcasting has begun

Urgh...Although I get lake effect snow, I really think you guys get more synoptic snow there than I do. This area STINKS for storm tracks.

True...Detroit has been stealing everyone's snow this Winter.

Although some of the most intense snow Ive ever seen was on the West Side of Michigan. TSSN and insane rates in a classic SW LES event. Wont ever forget that.

It was while driving to Chi Town a few years back..Had to pull over on 94. Worst part..It was at night. That was 1st time in life that snow actually scared me..lol

any storm track east of say lansing and west of the apps doesn't happen very often. We have done well 3 out of the last 4 winters but I feel your pain.
