powderfreak
Boston Today Yes there is snow in some places, but it's torched after this past storm. Literally nothing left in many areas, not even piles. Disaster. Is that a joke or seriously a picture from today? No way even the snowbanks are gone, lol. free_man
That was pre 50 degrees and rain I presume. I was near there yesterday around 2pm and there were quite a few bare spots. I believe you, family in N Bristol MA says some cover left but "lots of brown grass".
free_man
Is that a joke or seriously a picture from today? No way even the snowbanks are gone, lol. seriously ....I was shocked too. It's right before you hit Cambridge St. Govt CTR. The alleyways had some snow but not even much, just brown crust.

Its from today but he probably drove around the city looking for the area with the least snow, thats not representative of the area. Near major road ways/highways might look like that in some areas, but there is still a snow pack in BOS.

Can't wait for him to drive along the highway in Worcester and find a south facing steep slope that has bare ground and claim we are down to 0 snow pack. He made it sound like Chelmsford, MA had little snow left a couple weeks ago with bare spots all over the place and then when I go up to Megan's place in N Chelsmford, there's like 18-20" on the ground everywhere. He's simply trolling....gets his jollies by telling people how little snow there is.

40/70 Benchmark
That event next wknd is going to be rain followed by a ghey frontal passage....bank it. The GFS trying to pull a snowstorm out of a leprechaun's bag, post frontal passage is stupid. The first week of March looks bleak and the 1st half is in peril. 40/70 Benchmark
Maybe you haven't seeen Euro/GFS ens..everything trending colder for early next week storm. You won't be seeing grass, riding naked mountain bike trips around the neighborhood or tiptoeing thru any tulips until early April. It's going to trend like the last few have, into a colder rain...aside from the clipper.

mattb65
Is that a joke or seriously a picture from today? No way even the snowbanks are gone, lol. I can confirm almost all the snow in the city on main streets including piles on the sun facing side is gone. On the shade side there are still 6-12" piles but almost all areas that didn't have snow piled onto them are snow free. However as soon as you get to brookline or allston/brighton which is slightly more suburban there's at least 6" base or more, and a whole lot more when you get out to newton and beyond. But the heat island makes a huge difference and when you combine it with being on the warm side of coastal fronts you get most of the snow melted and the bulbs starting to grow. Edit: I'll shoot a few pictures on my phone that are not with the BIrving lenses.

You are completely wrong, nice of you to make such a kind and respectful post though. That pic was the very first thing you see off Storrow drive Govt ctr exit, if you knew the area at all. It only got worse from there onto Cambridge St, Bowdoin etc. And no, I did not "try to make anything sound like anything"...I simply said there was already bare ground showing up on the highways from route 3 N MA into SNH..how you percieve that and apply it is your own right, but I showed pics to back it up. Tropopause_Fold
Perhaps, there might be some IP/ZR in there too...esp south. what do you think about the idea of some flurries or light snows during the day on friday? nothing is spitting out any qpf (maybe that's my answer ) but the 12z nam showed a saturated column in the lowest 5K feet or so with a light ESE BL flow being overriden by some SW winds aloft and it did have some weak omega in there. plus just general lift over a departing arctic air mass. maybe it just ends up a layer of stratus. i don't know. How often do we have an arctic front pass through, then proceed to have a snow storm almost immediately follow the front....with a +NAO, nonetheless. I'll take a colder version of the EURO....ie a colder rain, followed by benign frontal passage, which will elicit WINDEX fantasies from Steve. Which is why I brought up the Chelmsford incident a couple weeks ago. You said you were driving to work down there and noticed how there were bare spots everywhere...leaving out the fact that 95% of the ground was covered in 18"+. What does the fact that I made a gross error in judgement on one awful night have to do with the fact that you are immensely awkward around other human beings...enlighten me, please. So let me get this straight, I am to be crucified for advertising and admitting that I was in idiot and acted grossly irresonsible....got it. I'd rather live through that and learn from it, then be a pariah for the rest of my life, like you...but kudos to you. Go beat it to a s facing slope. 40/70 Benchmark
He keeps pulling that card because he has nothing else to say....having some semblance of a sense of humor is an intergal part of succesfully interacting with other human beings, so that doesn't suprise me. We get it, Bri......I very nearly killed myself and could have hurt others because I was an idiot, but thankfully didn't. If I didn't want to man up and admit the error of my ways, then I wouldn't have owned up to it......me doing that likely causes everyone to be more careful at gtgs, now....I'm glad.
