That first batch of heavy zr warmed up things with the latent heat release

Not gonna be much to stop it from warming with latent heat release...no replenishing of lower dews with SE flow. Those areas that can try to turn it more ENE and NE might prolong it a bit, but a lot of areas are struggling to do that...more E and ESE flow showing up.

There's a chance much of the area may see a dryslot after 18z. I wonder if most of the QPF up by you and esp just to the north falls as ZR..lol.

Yeah we'll have to see how quickly it warms between now and 15z. If we last close to noontime with ZR, then it could get pretty awful. Its good thing this isn't a very high qpf event so ice accretion shouldn't get too out of hand, but even quarter inch amounts could be problematic with the snow on the trees.

Will--what are you thoughts out this way wrt the timing of the warming?

We're up to 23.1/21 now from an overnight low of 20.3.

Should continue to steadily rise throughout the next several hours...but still a ways to go to get to freezing. I don't have the best handle on it myself. But I think most areas will quickly approach freezing by 10 or 11am...however an area like yours may hold on a bit longer...its the type of thing where we may see it get to 30-31F and then it takes longer than expected to get those final couple degrees past freezing. I've seen that happen many a time.

there is a pretty deep warm layer above the inversion and the precip rates are going to be heavy... not sure icing is going to be seen by that many people

Oh and yet another forkyfork SNE troll failure.

Seems like at least 90% of SNE sees at least some icing with some of SNE seeing prolonged icing.

Yeah fog is thick and trees are pasted in it. Beautiful scene as it gets light. I suggest folks soak it in. Bare ground and mud next weekend ..possibly even for MRG

Stop, you just look foolish. You've been whining about losing your snowpack every time the temp looks like it goes above 32. If you had more experience with snowpacks you'd know they have staying power.

Thx, Will. We'll see how long we can ward off the melting temps.

Which is a little problematic as our burn season ends on May 1. I may need to get an agricultural dispensation permit.

20.7/19

Why not burn wih snow on the ground. Best way to do it as there is no chance for the fire to get out of control. I burn when the snow is on the way out but still on the ground. That or on days with light rain.
