BethesdaWX
I posted this earier...not for the hyped superstorm comparison, but for the information regarding magnetic field changes on the climate.
Clifford
http://www.helium.co...bal-superstorms There is also the risk of flying pigs. Imagine what would happen if an airliner slammed into a flying pig!!!! There isn't a lot we can do about the hypothesized pole flip, short of rebuilding our entire global electric grid to have the primary distribution network consisting of high voltage East-West DC lines. Still we probably wouldn't put much of a dent in it. On an earlier topic, I suggested that Earth's magnetic field instability may be related to the sun's magnetic field instability. And, it is quite possible that it is all related to the Holocene, and what is keeping us warm. In the past, many of the interglacial periods also occurred during weakening magnetic fields. I.E. If the sun's magnetic field was stable, then Earth's magnetic field would also be stable, and it would probably be much colder!!!! :snowman: If the magnetic field truly disintegrates, it could be bad. However, it should be noted that the sun is able to maintain a heliosphere even with a very erratic magnetic field. At this point I'm not going to loose any sleep over worrying about it.
