WhiteoutWX
Looks like its going to be a busy evening/night across the Charlotte region. This could be quite serious. Right now cape is pretty low across the area, as well as lifted index. RUC shows this increasing as the afternoon goes on, but dewpoints are still only in the low 50s across the area. Need to see those come up or the line is gonna weaken considerably as it heads east of the mountains. Waiting at watching for now.

Nomad
To add to the report from Knoxville above, I saw several cars submerged or floating down streets on my way home today. The sidewalks at the University of Tennessee were quite literally knee deep in places. It has calmed down now and I expect the urban flooding to begin to recede, but I've never seen anything like that in Knoxville.

Take a look at the 3 cells to the west of BHX. They have really intensified over the last 45 minutes. Those will be the ones to watch for the remainder of the afternoon, unless of course something develops out ahead of the main line, but that doens't look too likely attm. DrOldSchool
Camera Link (if I did it properly) of US-441 (Broadway) at I-640 in the Fountain City area of North Knoxville. The road is closed just North of there, and it's almost unfathomable (in my opinion) that this interchange is not closed as well, even though this is a significant highway. I got caught in a flood similar to that in Knoxville 3 or 4 years ago. I went up to watch the Vols play Marshal and we got caught in flood. I don't know what the street names were but there were cars floating down the streets then too.

dsaur
There is that same damn dry slot I've been getting the past 3 years, or so. Don't mind it now, but it killed my 3 snows this winter. I still think I'll see some rain, but will be interested to see if that squall line parts as it nears me, and it if is distant thunder that I'll hear. Solak
Lost my 10 plus year old silver maple! Hate to hear that... love 'em too. Lots of wind here - made to 81 despite the cloud cover. Dewpoint has actually dropped down to 52 from 57 earlier. Nonetheless, hate the prospect of possible nighttime severe weather.
