Pennsylvania weather site, and more

Recommended Posts

Just a couple of things you should think about:

Keep in mind that I am only giving some free advice and not taking shots at you. Also I know you are just starting out, and please accept this a constructive criticism (I have lectured on web sites and getting into the web over the US and Canada). I have presented at the Microsoft Tech Ed conference as well. Also I teach Computers at a local college.... and I have this issue where I cannot get out of teacher mode..... Besides, I am stuck home with a broken leg and I don't have much else to do...

who is your target audience?

what is your goal with the website?

Do you want to get into local media?

Your pict is OK, AJ should be "dressed for success".

Your bios need some work: I would put them on a different page. People are not going to scroll down to the bottom of the page.

Zak Brisko currently settles in the South Central part of Pennsylvania. He is the Lead Pennsylvania forecaster along with AJ Yohn. Snow is one of Zak's favorite types of weather to forecast and during big snow events he is seen to be doing video updates in front of his blue screen. Since the blizzard of 1993 Zak has fasinated.with grown closer to the weather by teaching himself. He brings leadership to the team where respect is given both ways.

I didn't do the bio so I can't say anything about that.

Target audience is anyone who wants weather info, goal is to provide accurate, reliable forecast and keep the public safe. It would be nice to get into local media yes.

I have a question about how you make your video updates... At my high school, we have a tv studio and I do the weather on a smartboard with a projector. I usually just use powerpoint, with graphics from Accuweather Pro and I make slides for the forecast for today tomorrow and 7 days forecast. Would you have suggestions of a better program to use?

I use Sony Vegas 9 and make graphics with keynote. You can set it up anyway you like.
