pasnownut
My oldest son lives in Waterville. He loves it up there! Home of the "mountain burger". Used to drive there all the time to get one. Now I have a place in Gaines (northern gorge) and don't get down that way much. Miss it though.
JamieOber
Damn, you guys scored big time Jamie, excellent pics, congrats on the dumping Thanks. And as Eastern pointed out, here comes the flood. Although I think there is no way in hell that was the last accumulating snow

Itstrainingtime
Thanks. And as Eastern pointed out, here comes the flood. Although I think there is no way in hell that was the last accumulating snow Strongly agree, brother. I had a smirk on my face yesterday watching all of the snow reports start filing in here. People give up way too easy it seems. Shoot, I still think I'm getting more... Great pictures, by the way. I have to laugh at people that wish against snow in March because of how quickly it melts...while that's true, there is nothing like a fresh snow paste contrasting against a bright early morning March sun. Your pictures are exhibit A in that category.
sauss06
It almost makes me wonder, could this past storm been a repeat of March 1993. With all the QBF and wind, we would be shut down right now.
pawatch
That was at the Waterville Hotel right? Not out at Happy Acres. Waterville Hotel had the mountain burger. They no longer call it that. But they have a burger you can put just about any meat topping you want on it. It's a monster!! Jamie Beautiful Pictures!!! Thanks for taking the time to post them!! lol at the Nam and the Blackjack example!!! On the NWS discussion HEAVY RAIN IS BECOMING LIKELY AND SNOW IS ALSO POSSIBLE...BRINGING A SENSE OF DEJA VU. SEE HYDRO SECTION FOR MORE. ECMWF/GEFS/GFS ALL SHOW THE UPPER TROF GOING NEGATIVE WITH THE APPROACHING FRONT SLOWING AND BECOMING WAVY. http://forecast.weat...1&highlight=off
pawatch
It almost makes me wonder, could this past storm been a repeat of March 1993. With all the QBF and wind, we would be shut down right now. NWS sais we had 1.62 inches In the 24 hours preceding Mar 07, 2011 Add 1" of rain at 14-1 and that would be some storm. Because that is what my cheap rain gauge was showing when it changed over to snow.

Not completely out of the realm of possibility, but this model has not been great this year several days out, unless it's on the same page as the euro. I wouldn't put much stock into this solution. JSTWX
Ended with 8.8 Pics: Nice! Looks like Centre County was the beast of the area. Good luck later this week.... may get ugly if we don't stay cad'd long, or don't see a fast changeover like this one.

I wouldn't put much stock into this solution. It was the first to nail this past event so I wouldn't put it out of the options. Other models have been trending stronger with the backside energy so we shall see. Either way 1.5"+ is looking likely. Again...

canderson
Man, March is crazy. Snowcover here in Harrisburg is virtually gone if it's touched the sun at all. Crazy 3" sleet/snow can melt in 3 hours when the temp is in the upper 30s. Sun angle ftl.

Tony May 7th....sheesh I was curious how much did you end up getting out of this mess? I am also looking forward to your input on this next storm. This was a bad throwing snow, once the sun come out. Snow wanted to clog up the augers. I have been blowing snow a lot of years and only about the 2nd time that has happened.
