tombo82685
Doesn't look like tomorrow will be as strong as last weekend, but the damage could be more with the inch of rain that falls during the night and day

tombo82685
Looks like the strongest winds are going to between 1pm to 7pm....if we get any storms that can mix down the winds up above, the gfs has 105 mph winds at 850 level, there could be some damage. Mike, whats the best to look at for shear for thunderstorms. The spc has like 5 different shear indices. Is the surface to 6km or the surface to 1 kn the best? SmokeEater
Mike, one heck of a report for ya, lol. Tree down into a garage, which took out power lines, which are down and arching, and also took out propane tanks, which are leaking. Address is 1452 Kings Highway in Woodstown, right near the Gloucester County line.

Is the surface to 6km or the surface to 1 kn the best? I like to look at the surface to 1KM shear especially for possible low-level rotation. Deeper shear (i.e. 0-3KM and 0-6KM) is also good to look at for possible rotating storms but moreso to get an idea about storm organization. An interesting observation currently is the visible satellite imagery over eastern West Virginia. The convective clouds are actually leaning forward quite a bit with height due to the strong winds. If the shear is so strong, that can act to rip apart the convection or at least limit its vertical growth.
Thunder Road
13z RR brings 500-1000 J/kg CAPE into all of DE by 19z, then most of NJ by 20z. I can't seem to get the HRRR to load at school. Anything good from the RR's brother?
SmokeEater
Yikes! Already? Thanks for the report. I know right, 200 pound propane tanks at that. We've been getting some decent gusts here in the last little while, I would guess, 25-30 mph or so.

Especially without the sun aiding in vertical growth would have balanced out the shear. GFS timing FTW?

Thunder Road
SPC shifted their SLIGHT a hair south at 1630 fwiw.
