smokeybandit
What kind of sustained winds ground flights? Anyone know? I thought it was more the risk of crosswinds more than it was the headwind they'd be taking off into, at least for the larger commercial plane. I doubt too many Piper Cubs are flying in this. Or any of Cape Air's flights.

Kmlwx
Winds went dead here all of a sudden Either the pgrad is relaxing or mixing was lowered by cloud cover (maybe a combination?) I know that increased sun is good for wind but we have clouded over here a good bit.

Mrs.J
Just went out to pick up my daughter from school, and a stop sign had been blown over and the pole bent at the ground level. I stopped the car to take the street signs that came off out of the road to the model home. I have seen the street signs blow off before but never the pole bent over. Avdave
I thought it was more the risk of crosswinds more than it was the headwind they'd be taking off into, at least for the larger commercial plane. I doubt too many Piper Cubs are flying in this. Or any of Cape Air's flights. I beleive this is a number that they go with that will stop flights. DCA did have a ground stop earlier KXHO is without power as of 45 minutes ago, the entire airport. Closed now
