Professional Lurker
Have fun up here Pete! ...currently the chairs are getting cleaned off, just for you. The place is DEAD at the moment. Hopefully conditions don't deteriorate too much, as right now it looks pretty epic. My kids are here so I'm probably going to spend the morning out in the snow playing with them. ...see you out there!
Professional Lurker
I'm assuming that the heavier echoes entering western mass are bright banding... the warm air is probably winning out, huh?
CoastalWx
Scooter what time do you think the cold front gets to western ct? Probably should cool off after 6 or so where you are.

I was a little worried that some of the heavier echos sliding this way might have been a mix but as it turns out it's just heavier snow when they move over us. This is why I live in GC. Line appears to run from Sterling to Cape Ann in MA atm. anything to the north of that is still snow. Heavy echos in SE Mass are +RA (0..2-0.25"/ hour) that area is about to get soaked. weatherMA
LOL what is with this map? Im sitting in that little sliver of purple surrounded by WSWs. Also weird how it goes from warning to nothing, no advisory in between. WTF? Ripping S+ here, 1" hour at 32F. Somewhere between 2" and 3" on the ground in Merrimack, nh. wxmanmitch
Changeover in the process of occurring here. 4.5" of new snow with a mix of snow, sleet, and rain. Areas above route 2 should be okay, with maybe some brief mixing at route 2 for a while. Edit: 8:49 AM. Mostly sleet and rain now. Mangles flakes pretty much out of the equation for now. J.Spin
I noticed some first flakes here in Burlington at around 7:55 A.M., and it was just flurries for a while, but the snow is coming down steadily now and all surfaces have a new coating of probably ¼ inch. ski MRG
It will change over. Even the Holy God's country won't be prone to that. Maybe for a bit. Heavy snow now. It's already a big win though. After all the Negative Nellies crying about 55 and rain I'll notch 6+ easily and then more later today and over the weekend. But thanks for trying to rain on my parade. I'll post some more pics of clean white snow for you.lol

powderfreak
Snow is coming down surprisingly hard for a lack-luster radar look... maybe there is hope? Good sized dendrites (better than I expected) are a welcomed sign. Also have been watching the H7 frontogenesis plots and the best fronto looks to come near this area. The SPC plots have this H7 fronto lining up well with that band from CLE-BUF-ART-BTV... maybe we can pull something out of this after all.
