ORH_wxman
Looks like a pretty good ice signal here on monday after a start as snow on the Euro And then a huge torch for 6 hours as the low tracks up powderfreak's fanny.
ORH_wxman
Is this a scenario where we can get a feel for what might be in store for us by watching obs out of ITH & SYR to our west. No, we'll want to watch the R/S to our SW. Like see if POU and other areas S of our latitude can stay snow longer (or even start as snow when they weren't supposed to). Central NY will see mostly snow regardless.

Yeah the Euro wasn't what I wanted to see. But I knew I have an uphill battle in this. The Gardner contingent looks a lot better and always has. Though it would be great if I can pull off 5 or 6" on the front end while Kevin is ripping RA+ at 34F...he'd probably start losing it if you were getting 3" of slop too. adamrivers
Light snow here, about half an inch on the ground new... very, wet. Hangin' at 31. It'd be a nice cap to this winter to have this one be a surprise...but it's just not in the cards.

I'm more worried about a quick 1" and then sleet and then 33F rain at 7-8am a bit sooner than models had it and really before the best precip gets in here. Though We should be ripping decent by 5am I would think, but you never know. Its a concern of mine and we see it happen sometimes. Especially since I'm on the southern edge of where you'd probably draw an advisory line (ala BOX)...that southern edge of the advisory is always precarious in these setups. Ice Warrior commander
I'll be doing the sneaky snow observing tonight. I want the measurement to be spot on before taint comences later on. I have .7" and some Rain mixing here now. Maybe due to intensity has let up .

Its doing nothing here at the moment...maybe very light drizzle...but there's nothing overhead on radar and cannot see snowflakes in the street light like I did about 20 min ago.On the wxtap radar, I'm a shade north of the circle that shows Worcester. I see .. I'm in the area just to your south. More SN than RA attm. Looks like that area just East of CEF extrapolates to you soon. The R/S line is just riding precariously close to me now.. The R/S line is just riding precariously close to me now.. R/S line should come further south at least temporarily as the heavier stuff to the SW moves in int he next 2-3 hours. At least that's the way most models have it. I'm glad to see MSV in SE NY go to 1 SM and 30F (they are over 1000 feet) as the good precip moved in. They don't report weather but its almost guaranteed with that vis drop and temp that they went to steady snow. They are the same latitude as about Kevin roughly.
