Typhoon Tip
Can you explain this to a newbie? The reason I am asking - while being too lazy to check my self - is complicated. The primary vort max is tracking S of LI and that is usually good at least down to the Mass pike for snow ...even in a rotted polar air mass. If the sounding shows dry air through a deeper layer in the lower 200 MBs, then 34 or 35 wet bulb will mix down to 32 when falls commence, because of dynamic just aloft then mixing down. If the air mass is saturated through 800 mb already, no go, and despite the colder profile of the NAM, we waste an otherwise good v-max latitude. 40/70 Benchmark
Looks like Dec '96. Exactly what is in the back of my mind...I'd rather a 65* rainer, followed by an and to winter....honest to god.
moneypitmike
Looks like the 850 freezing line gets to me/just to my south at 18z tomorrow. Perhaps a bit cooler than it had been.. Dont' know if that means snow or not. But, looks like there would be a good front end regardless.

Really would prefer 2/27/10 Pete, Andy got killed 2/23-2/24 That was when we thought something bad happened to Pete. He just lost his phone line and got high speed access...
