LOL...now that it's rain I'm in the jackpot zone.

Hoping to continue this through the summer to maybe get some more activity on the board. If it goes well, we can do maps for every potential rainfall over an inch forecasts or t-storm potential

My map

google1copy.jpg

blue 1.25-1.5

lgt blue .75-1.25

green (including orange area) .5-.75

Orange greatest area for tstorm chances.

I am actually looking forward to washing this snow away and continuing the trek towards spring. A massive rainstorm is easier to take on Feb 24th, than on Jan 24th.

Well I for one am not looking forward to a massive rainstorm when its still winter. I would much rather see on Feb 25th nice white snow then brown mud, brown grass and dead weeds. I will enjoy spring in late March early April.

With this High Watch unlike the last Saturday High Wind Event, we could be having a crap load of tree's coming down, as we have Rain becoming involved so making the ground wet and with a wet ground and high winds will equate to loads of down trees.

That's a good point you make! The ground will be so saturated with the rain and melting snow. This could be a rough day for a lot of us on Friday!

Surprised a flood watch isn't up for SE PA. FFG is 1-2" and we're likely to see that, plus still quite a bit of snow left.

Wind watch will most likely become an advisory us.

On my iPhone, so can't copy and paste the afd from mt. Holy. However, they mentioned that , and I paraphrase, " after collaborating with surrounding offices, decided not to issue ffw." but they considered it.

As far as the snow pack, the last 2 days put a good dent in whagmtever pack was left. Also, the liquid equivalent maps weren't too impressive. If there was a solid snowpack, I'd def see one. But I don't think it's as big a factor as say maybe a few weeks ago.

Current Wxsim program paints 2.89" of rain between tonight and Monday evening.

1.46" with storm 1

1.43" with storm 2

Should be a great spring for my lawn!

Unless it resembles a rice paddy field.

My heavy clay soil looked like this the past 2 springs around the first time I had to mow. It was a mess!
