This is the lead forecast at the highest rated local news station.

that was pathetic.

last night all of the models were either mostly south of us or all snow for us.

that forecast called for a change over to snow at 1030pm?

we had heavy snow from noon till 7 pm, terrible.

ZERO EFFORT.

I am not sure when the last stretch was of below freezing days in late March, but we have been below freezing since Thursday. We will be lucky to see 35 tomorrow. We have been below normal for 5 days, and will continue to be below normal until Friday, at the earliest.

Fortunately for us, no snow out of the deall....

Isnt it ironic that something SO beautiful looks like this when it dies? Had my camera today as I was near the mall so I stopped for a few pics of a snowy winters post-mortem

The trash in the snow is ridiculous and we say pigs are a filthy animal :P

March ends here as a very uneventful month. Only a trace of snow. Had a few meager rain events. Our nickel-quarter size hailstorm a few weeks ago was the highlight of the month. That was actually pretty cool.

Another interesting thing did happen today though. As I was just about to get into my car after work I noticed an intense "cornstalk devil" in the cornfield just east of our parking lot. The winds outside of this were nearly calm. Some of the litter mixed in with the devil slowly lifted to a height I'd estimate to be at least 300 feet. Very cool! It persisted for a few minutes, but soon dissipated after it hit a row of trees.

March was our 4th consecutive month below normal temperatures at DTW.

Dec: -4.0F

Jan: -2.7F

Feb: -2.5F

Mar: -1.9F

Ended the month with 9.1" of snow imby and 8.6" at DTW, though it almost all came in 2 events.

MBY:

4.7" Mar 5/6

4.3" Mar 10/11

0.1" Mar 14

This actually is slightly above normal, though coming off of record February snow it doesnt feel like it.

Its been a very wet start to 2011, as through March 31st, this calendar year has already brought MBY 9.65" of precipitation and 58.9" of snow.
