earthlight
I'm not surprised PHI went with warnings..we definitely gusted near or over 50 as soon as the storm passed here. There are a few stations on wundermap showing similar results, but not all of them. It may be a somewhat isolated incident.
earthlight
Visible satellite imagery shows the sun is out over Eastern PA, portions of Western NJ, and Southwest NJ. Impressive dynamics.
pazzo83
This is some sick line for this time of year! Beautiful forced line of convection. NYC looks like it will be getting hit pretty good. Looks like everything is linear today, was wondering if we would possibly see some discrete cells at first but the flow aloft is more on the unidirectional side with the directional shear taking place in the lower levels with the warm front around. I wonder if we see a warning for the NYC metro area soon? It's already cleared the city but we had some good winds and a downpour. Looked more like April/May than Feb. IsentropicLift
We are starting to clear out pretty good in Ramsey. I was hoping that snow in PA was going to make it in here but it looks to be breaking apart.

weatherwiz
The better fun is down in NJ...temperatures are a bit warmer and a bit less in the way of an inversion plus there is a few hundred J/KG of MUcape in place and even a little bit of SBcape. Looks like we do it again on Monday perhaps!

weatherdude888
I was "lucky" enough to be driving when it hit here in Staten Island. The sky was very dark, and everything outside was still, even then rain had tapered off, then all of sudden *BOOM*, heavy downpour with moderate wind. The whole event lasted maybe 5-7 minutes, and now it's clearing brighter skies, but the wind seems to be picking up -Matthew
Quincy
It will be interesting to see if the snow showers in northern PA make it into parts of the area. (:

IsentropicLift
When are these strong winds expected to pick up? so far were a big fail on the high wind warning. River is continuing to rise here at a good clip, I wonder how much more runoff we will get. So far up 13.68" and about 28.08" above normal. 19.92" to go before minor flooding begins.
