Macintosh
Exactly where are you in relation to Cape Girardeau? City of Perryville, MO. Just looked outside and see that the storm is not yet past me. I'm right in the city center.
ukrocks
Storms look to really be firing up as they leave the Ozarks. Also starting to see a 3rd line developing.
Macintosh
Cannot receive PAH tv stations due to where I live. Saint Louis stations likewise. And none of the stations of interest stream their content (at least not right now). Just checked radar and see a couple of possible "couplets" on the low res velocity radar out of PAH. That's all I have right now.

CarbondaleWX
This is going to sound noobish but I'm in one of the towers at SIU on the 14th floor. They want us to take cover in the bathrooms (interior) if there's a tornado. Am I safe staying on the 14th floor or should I head to the lobby? Just worried about being in the tower. That's all I have right now. That is weird, because I would have thought you were in there viewing area. I get Capes station, WSIL, WPSD, Jackson TN, and all 3 Nashville stations. And yeah I have never seen the 3 stations up here stream there content. I would have thought they would but oh well. Back on subject, Carbondale is about to get pounded. Would not be shocked to see them get a warning here in the next few minutes.

Lower is probably better, wind speeds would probably be higher the higher up you are. As long as you got the time to head down go for it.

But I need a more powerful antenna than I currently have to receive them. And I am limited in antenna mounting with my house location.
CarbondaleWX
I would probably go to a lower floor - that is just me - if I was concerned about a storm Think I'm going to do that. Want to decide soon because if the power goes off, no elevator access.
Macintosh
All safe. I just attempted to locate some hailstones but was unable. They sounded pretty big but impossible to tell. There weren't that many of them and it only lasted a short while. But it was definately hail. I could hear it striking all four side walls of the house above. Big loud "thwack" sounds. Who knows. Sorry, Beau. Have to wait till next time for the hail size!

Macintosh
Quarter size reported in Perryville earlier from police That's what I was going to guess by the sound of it! As if the sound is a reliable indicator of hail size. Not exactly a precision caliper.
