Caps1980
To this newbie's untrained eye, it looks like the heavier precip(total inches) has shifted further south.Am I correct in this thinking?
WinterWxLuvr
Not per se. Frontogenic forcing is a factor people often look at for ID'ing the heaviest precip bands and strengthening storms, etc. Here's a quote from a storm summary from an AZ WFO... www.wrh.noaa.gov/wrh/talite0437.pdf Thanks and the reason that I asked is that in one of the discussions from this morning out of LWX, they mentioned the strong gradient and then said " this is frontogenesis". Stormpc
18z NAM is a disaster for us. 18z NAM is dry like usual That is concerning. Looks further north with good stuff well into Jersey. Current radar hallucinations seem to support this as well.
North Balti Zen
You forced me to go look at the NAM myself, Ji. Disaster? Really? Looks like the same 4-6 across your area and mine with just slightly lesser to DC. Unless I am looking at old cache of the NAM, and I don't think I am, what am I missing?
