I think radar looks better "down the road" for us now. Good stuff coming in from the sw and blossoming to the NE. Please, look again.
WVclimo
Finally, some dendrites, and larger flakes. Had to get to 20.9 degrees before it finally stopped sounding like rain. Just shy of 3" and moderate, to bordering on heavy snow now.
Ian
First flakes in Northwest DC, but sleet by far predominates. i saw some flakes -- tiny ones -- earlier and they've been in dca reports. my ground is actually fairly white, on a side note. real
FWIW -- Prince William County Schools are CLOSED tomorrow I don't live there, but if I did, I would seriously go to the next school board meeting and complain about how often they have closed school. I swear they must be nearing 10 days off so far this winter -- that would equal 1 closing for every inch of snow that has fallen on the county so far this year. Fairfax and Montgomery are not much better, but Prince William gets a dusting and they are closed. 2 inches and they are closed for 2 or 3 days.
