39 IMBY. Wind is N here too. Column saturated so no evap cooling expected. Nice to see the temps where they are and the N winds. LWX made note of the tricky temp forecast to in their morning AFD.

If we end up in the U-30's L-40's today then it won't take much at all for the surface to go below freezing later on. Overperformer on the way?

MY temp has fallen from 53 to 48 in the past 40 minutes. Looks like my temp call from yesterday will be a big bust.

Big temp busts for almost everyone across the board :arrowhead: A good thing for snow lovers (and anyone who went straight MOS) for sure. We'll have to see if it holds or adjusts N/S, all 3 of which are still possibilities today. Oh the fun!

We had a little snow last night. No Accum. I was not expecting to wake up to a WSW this morning though. LWX seems to like my chances out here. A bit extreme I think.arrowheadsmiley.png

Tonight: Rain, snow, and sleet, becoming all snow after 1am. Low around 26. East wind between 11 and 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow and sleet accumulation of 4 to 8 inches possible.

Tuesday: Snow likely, mainly before 7am. Partly sunny, with a high near 32. North wind around 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Not going to happen, but would have loved to see a special 18z sounding today.

Raining at Wisp. Boundary has an interesting orientation. Looking at the NAM 850 maps you can see the nice bend around the E side of the apps/blue ridge. Warmer air at the surface and aloft out to the west.

Crazy how all the pieces are coming together for a mostly to all snow event here.

Any bets from you as to when you see the changeover?

Hard to say because I only see the 6 hour panels. If I had to guess it would be around 5-6pm?

If you look at the 12 and 18 hour 850 panels of the NAM it happens sometime in between. Once it does it going to snow pretty darn hard out that way for 6 hours or so.

Edit: I did the math wrong. Probably around 8pm or so.
