Flying MXZ
14" was the total for the day bringing the season to 142". Finding places to put the snow is becoming and issue in places around here. A dense 11" here. Season total of 107". I don't believe it ever rained at my house as there were no "layers" in the snow like the stuff I scrapped off my truck from Delhi. I spent the past 3 hours plowing and "piling" my snow. My driveway would be shrunk down to next to nothing like after the Feb. storm last year if it were not for my new tractor. The 4-wheeler does good, but doesn't push back the snow. nzucker
was being sarcastic LOL it's all good...I'd be so frustrated if I were living up there and kept watching NYC, which averages 25"/year, get hammered while you sit and watch a few clouds drift by. 09-10 was literally a nightmare winter for certain parts of NY State; I have a friend who goes to St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY, and he only measured like 40" on the entire season. Temperatures were so far above normal...When I drove back to Middlebury on I-87 from the February 25, 2010 storm which dumped 26" in my backyard, there was a ton of bareground between Poughkeepsie and Albany, almost unheard of for that part of the year. Those areas were really suffering.

nzucker
lol that winter was a nightmare Middlebury actually did OK in 09-10...we got 20" from the 1/3 Retrograde Storm that broke the Burlington records with 35" snowfall. Then we got another 20" on 2/24 from a SW flow type event. There weren't many other snowfalls, and we had to wait a long time to get anything good, but those two events made sure we got above average. Temperatures were miserable, though, so mild...almost no brutally cold nights or fresh arctic air.
Stash
Albany finally eclipsed it this year, but they had a run of I think 5 straight years of below normal snowfall. They'll be one of the very few climate sites in the Northeast that will see their 30 year snowfall average decrease once it gets updated sometime in the near future. LOL it's all good...I'd be so frustrated if I were living up there and kept watching NYC, which averages 25"/year, get hammered while you sit and watch a few clouds drift by. 09-10 was literally a nightmare winter for certain parts of NY State; I have a friend who goes to St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY, and he only measured like 40" on the entire season. I am thinking of chasing the cutter in Quebec as I'm going to be in Northern Vermont visiting friends tomorrow through Monday...I am wondering how far north I will need to go.
