precip should be in NYC Metro by 10 p.m. and everything shown here reaches the ground

thats kinda fast. i think 10pm over the del river and more like midnite for NYC. dewpoints are relatively low around here. and the precip does look to be hitting a little bit of a wall to the W of the DEL river.

23z RUC looks great at 12 hr...precipitation sliding east and expanding southeast from this point as well. These type of events almost always have a northward expanding precipitation shield, moreso than guidance forecasts. It's just a matter of moistening everything up to get good snow falling.
