gkrangers
Up by you? There was a half inch in holmdel an hr ago with all the returns staying north. Looks like one band will swing thru in the next 2 hrs at least but by then the radiation is going strong..I'm hoping tonight can surprise up here, though I'm not thinking anymore than a coating to 1". Yes should be an easy 5-6" up that way.

TheTrials
NAM had this storm pegged until the 0z run last night. Showed the best precip and lift right where the biggest winners are this morning at 12z and 18z yesterday. Why this model always goes crazy at the last second is beyond me. Congrats to all the big winners! :snowman:
Sampson
moderate-heavy snow at the moment. I woke up at 5:00am and there was very little out my window. Now it seems like there's around 3"?

hudsonvalley21
Just measured and, indeed, I do have 6 inches. First storm in a very long time that I am getting more than was forecasted. Forcast pretty much on target up to your north. Have 4" down as of 8am. The band of mod.snow shifted to the south. 25/23.

Sundog
Your patience has been rewarded, William. He was getting a bit antsy last night when models did the usual cutback and shift at the last minute routine lol. In the end he might end up better than all of us on the island. Sundog
Only sad part is the snow won't have long lasting staying power. Some of us got used to seeing an inch or two melt per 60 degree day lol.

In the end he might end up better than all of us on the island. The thing was...I wasn't really familiar with the fact that the NAM cuts back so drastically on final runs...I saw 1/10" liquid and said how the heck are we going to squeeze anything out of that? I assumed the NAM was on to something rather than on something. So I made a post about a best case scenario of 3" on the Island. Lesson learned. CooL
I posted the hrrr and ruc radar sims last night when the precip looked weak in PA. I said that they had the Great Lakes precip coming over and i got bashed. They did amazing, had the heavy band over SE NY and N jersey early this morning. I was told the storm was weeakening and fizzling out last night right after i posted it.
