HIPPYVALLEY
We get another great period, great.....this benign pattern segues into opening day and the Bs PS run, cool.....I'm satisfied with this winter, regardless....though this craptacular string of home stretches needs to end, at some point. What / when was the last big March we had?

40/70 Benchmark
Ahhh so the Euro is more like what the NAM just showed, take back what I said then, that is some really heavy rain and warmth on the NAM wow. Many are banking on the 35 F lock in with a move ene around white plains/ POU but it seems like the 50 F+ amped up ALB runner is still on the table. EURO has def. come s in our neck of the woods; it now tracks near or just s of Boston, as opposed to near Dendrite.

weathafella
You'll lose. I'm not even that upset about it.......whatever... If I lose, we get to break bread together. So I still win. Great winter it has been.....petering out possibly.....hard to know what is coming after 3/10 but that's another 8F on climo.
SJonesWX
How bad? I think we better enjoy our ice sports and skiing now. bad feeling aside of that brief period around 3/9 it's ugly. DT Wxrisk for the Big FTW he really did make what appears to be a great call when he said the pattern was changing into a not-so-favorable one around Feb 1. HIPPYVALLEY
2005. Yeah, that's too long. I would think climo favors a decent March more than once every 6 years.
MattdWX
great to see most of ski country get mostly snow out of this next storm, also awesome news for snowmobilers who love the wetter snow to pack down and build the base more sad news for ski areas in SNE and CNE, oh well I will back to the northeast kingdom sunday checking out the huge snowbanks through franconia notch along the way

HIPPYVALLEY
OT: Had to share this. Just got some disturbing news! I'm friends with a woman and her husband and he is a local police chief in Sunderland. Yesterday 2 brothers walked into the police station and tried to break out their other brother who was awaiting bail on a silly misdemeanor. They attacked the chief and another officer with fists, feet and a knife. Luckily the officers only suffered minor injuries. They had enough hand to hand combat skills and somehow emotional restraint to avoid putting bullets in these jack asses. (my friend has a hip injury from the altercation but will be ok) Now these guys are facing charges worth 20 years behind bars and there brother is free on $500 bail for a minor warrant charge. Unbelievable!

I'd rather have last March lol Hey, I just want total numbers. I've seen borderline crap patterns come together for something last minute too. Just keep an eye out after the first week. 40/70 Benchmark
It's a catch 22...folks like Kev and Steve we'll focus on how cold Canda is and say that they'll take their chances with that....but if the RNA and +NAO win out, then all the cold in Canada does is ensure the dry periord in btween rainers are frigid and windy. Hopefully we can times it right so that some of the highs are optimally positioned in order to salavage some decent swfes.

Yea, I think we see wins after the 1st week, but we hyothetically could easily see a total fail....I'm just betting against it because it's been 5 years since we've had a good March. Even if it's climo, just something. I don't want to approach drizzle season with that empty feeling again, and then the faux severe threats begin from Wiz. I know John loves his TCU, but many times said TCU collapses and gives me a big FU.

40/70 Benchmark
I wish that the QBO was negative. Anyway, I don't see how NNE can miss with all of that cold in Canada. Glad that I'm not of the pike, but I'd rather be in NNE.

Hopefully we can times it right so that some of the highs are optimally positioned in order to salavage some decent swfes. Another option is a decently "snowy" month on paper but includes things like 2.2"before 1" of rain followed by another 1.7" on the backside... and a bunch of storms that never seem to deliver more than 3" in one-sitting. You could potentially get another 1-2 feet by seasons end with a bunch of front and back-end mini-snows. My gut is telling me that there is some suffering involved this month but that there'll be one storm where it all comes together. I'm envisioning something that I get left out of up here, but that SNE ends up with some wet snow bomb on like March 25th. I think Tip has said that already, but I agree... no scientific backing, just a gut feeling about how March will go down. And honestly, I think all anyone wants is one more good 12" storm. Hopefully it is one that can be long-tracked and then the weenies will be satisfied fully.
