Kevin ...I almost feel sorry for you - almost.

I envision it being like, May 22nd, and you're posting: "If we can just get past the inferno on the 25th, there a real possibility of recouperating our snow pack and getting some substantial icing on June 21"

:lmao:

Don't you think it should be time to give it up, relax, accept the season's changing - whether earlier than normal or not - and move on? That way if/when (or not) it does snow, you are only pleasantly surprised. Spare your self some angst already...

Was it over when the germans bombed pearl harbor?

Thinking 5-9 might be too light for you now? I'm keeping 4-7 ... still wary of hvy mixing.

Yeah it could be, But which models qpf to go with, 5-9" is a good start, Can always go up if need be from there, Prob be on the higher end now if the euros qpf verifies, I still may sleet for a time..

I think we're done in the I-95 corridor at least in CT. It's just about March anyway, so realistically those of us on the shore have about three more weeks where we could have a legitimate threat materialize. If you're further north or have elevation, you're lucky enough where you can count on at least 30 more days of winter unless we get into an anomalously warm pattern then there's no saving winter for anyone anywhere. We had five or six inches of snow Monday morning here in Greenwich, and that practically all torched away the minute the sun came out. A -10 departure barely keeps us at freezing during the day at this point as every 4-5 days we're gaining another degree on the average along with 15 more minutes of increasingly strong sun.
Will cripple the economy. Horrible.
If this doesn't give us the impetus to get off oil nothing will.

My optimism about March is waning....we'll see but things are looking worse by the run and the sands of time is running. It's been a heckuva run and maybe we'll get some snow over the weekend..beyond that we'll see.

Will cripple the economy. Horrible.

We saw a big spike in oil prices when oil surged to 150 bucks a barrel during the summer of 2008. It's hard for the incumbent party to win an election with oil prices like that and McCain never had a chance. My guess is oil prices will be higher in 2011 than they will be during the 2012 campaign....but if they're at high levels over a year from now a sane Republican could beat Obama.

Im just hoping we get one more big one (12+) maybe followed by a record cold day and then call it a winter and get the golf clubs out.

Strongly agree and after 2 monster rainstorms, the remainder of the pack from Jan is history--time to start rooting for the torch....
