As we said 10 days ago, late feb/early Mar will not feature any snowstorms or a retrn to sig winter wx. I still dont understand where all the glimmer and hope was coming from

February always looked skeptical. Nothing new here. Early March was up in the air with mixed signals. I certainly would not have said it looked horrible 10 days ago, unless I was trolling.

Nothing terribly dire in BOX's forecast for My Locale. I should wring some snow out over the 5 days. Looking to top 120" for the season. Shouldn't be that tough to do.

They've spent the whole Winter planning a battle strategy. Kevin's not used to having a deep snowpack and will be shocked at the damage the moles and munks do to a lawn when protected by snow. Heavy heavy tunneling.

This is true. My dog has a penchant for small mammals and she is constantly sniffing and pouncing on the snow in our yard like she is sensing and chasing something under there.

Parkbenchboy-

You are much smarter than all us grownups here.

It's frustrating for you that the men you are attempting to engage in battle here are dimwitted to such an extent that they are unable to see the full spectrum of all your brilliance.

As an adult with a big heart I sense a need in you. A need for a manly explanation on how to behave around mature strangers.

So let me explain this for you.

Shut up.

If I had an award to give...you would receive it. I may have to quote you...

BS

I often hear folks play the "no high over Canada, what will force a triple point" card......my response to this is that their perspective is backwards. Orographics render the default setting of climo to a cp track, thus you must look for what will force this to track bodily across the spine of NE, not vice versa.....and I don't view this trough as sharply neg enough to truck this thing over Mt. Pete. That just doesn't happen unless you have a violently negative trough far enough west to grab the low by the hair and force it to do so, otherwise this will find a way to spill onto the cp.

Track over se MA is my call....minor front end snows and a minor-mod ice threat for the elevated interior.

The 'ole "no high, no blocking" cry rationalizes a hugger over a BM track, sure, but that isn't going to cut it to Ski MRG in and of itself.

I think I understand you better now.

Well my hope to avoid buying Ray dinner is that the next 2 events can add up to 3.6. Little chance of much for Thurs night/Friday but the weekend still has some hope. Next week truly looks like a dead ratter. I need to take a day trip to PIT 3/2...out early AM and back mid evening. Then the next day I need to go to DC for about 24 hours. Doesn't look like delays this far out but a week is a long time.

When things run off the tracks here I always have my mome away from home to cheer for. In the end I think I'll pick up some on the front end and maybe a bit as the system pulls away. Hope you guys get pasted if it has to go bad here.

I still think this works out for a net gain for you and MPM... MPM might be in a slightly better spot a county or two northward, but overall the Berkshires will just continue to lock that snowpack in until May.

My gut from the past couple of days looks right with best snow from ALB-GFL-RUT-LEB areas. Up here BTV should be the northwest extent of the steadier snows, we should be right on the line here near MVL...

I think the Hanover/Lebanon/Dartmouth crowd gets a nice 4-7" dense snowfall... across to Dendrite and up towards Dryslot... a nice SW-NE axis of moderate snows bookended on the north and south by lighter accums.

Hmmm, sounds like Hickory will be the place to be Friday . I really need to get up there to ski...

The pattern looks pretty awful for snow lovers into the first week of March, to be honest.

Maybe we can get the Blackstone River into flood.

Where the hell is that -NAO?

It's just ugly and time us running out. Now we are looking at the latter part of the first week of march. We can still get lucky and catch a pattern relax that gives us 1, 2 maybe even 3 quick chances but it's getting uglier by the day.

If the gfs were a restaurant they'd change the name of it and post "under new management" signs after this performance.

Perhaps you and the Missus should adopt parkbenchbuoyboy and bring him to northern Maine?

Oh no.

Parkbenchboy is an angry savant who would rub our farmers and woodsmen wrongly.

Such a didact would soon develop teeth troubles and blocked nasal passages.

As his sponsor I would be responsible for the many doctor visits.

Let him remain a ward of the state of Massachusetts.

Vim Toot!
