would the boldened imply greatest amounts across southern wisconsin?..noting that LOT only has Cook,DuPage,Lake and Mchenry in the WWA and areas south and west not in the advisory. Still thinking a 1-2 inch snowfall is more likely here.

my forcast here in Lake Co IL is calling for 3-5 inches as well and I agree with you that less snow is likely south and west.

Wow, LAF peaked at 61/52 at 3AM...but has been sorta back doored this morning, now down to 37/34 at 9AM. An interesting afternoon and evening on tap as the race between the moisture and deeper cold air is on. 12z NAM brings 0.50"+ QPF, but what in what form is TBD. Should be fun...

You sound like you're surprised lol. Looks like the high for the 20th is 57.

Heavy easterly wind driven snow started here at Elkhart within the past one half hr preceded by some light fzra. Looks very wintry outside here now and I expect the east wind will keep temps down here to have this 3-4 inch snow that NWS is predicting. I have a corner office with windows facing east and south. Won't get much work done this afternoon!:snowman:

PRELIMINARY INDICATIONS ARE THAT CURRENT WINTER WX HEADLINES WILL

STAY AS IS...BASED ON SATELLITE TRENDS AND FORECAST MOVEMENT OF

UPPER LOW CENTER INTO NRN IL TONIGHT. THIS FAVORS SRN WI FOR

BETTER ACCUMULATING SNOW...BUT NRN TIER OF COUNTIES IN IL MAY

STILL RECEIVE ADVISORY LEVEL SNOW TONIGHT. MORE DETAILS

FORTHCOMING...PROBABLY ABOUT 1530.

looks like you could get another 2" before it's all over...still snowing here also.

Yeah, this last band is hanging on over the metro. I came into this storm thinking that it might bring me close to 80" for the season. Instead I have surpassed it. As for the official total for MSP as of 6am, I saw on one of the local stations that we are now at the 2nd all time snowiest season through Feb. 21. If the airport finishes around the 15" mark, then their seasonal total will be right around 76". It'll still take over 20" more to break the all-time seasonal record, but it is possible at this point.

After making that post, I was thinking I should've allowed more time in case the LAF thermometer tries to pull something funky. So maybe within the next 2-3 hours. :guitar:

You know we'll be the last location in Indiana to get to 32. At least we avoided any wintry precip today. Have we seen our last flakes for the season?

Todays pictures. I had to rescue my mom as she was stuck earlier, I cant believe how many cars were stuck. A totally awesome storm! Remember, there was NO old snow left. We had to go just 2 days with bare ground. Looks like a big roof collapse caused by heavy snow in Pontiac. Then of course the awesome thundersnow last night... Who would have thought yesterday that this is what would transpire!
