Just measured 7-8" before this next burst came in here in Minnetonka, MN (West Metro of Minneapolis). Received 1-2" in an hours time.

Snow as heavy if not a bit heavier than that right now.

Looks like wave after wave of heavy snow over the next several hours.

hard to measure it here living out in the country and over 40mph winds but areas around me are reporting 8 - 10" so far so i'll go with that...nice pic by the way.

I was driving when that thunderstorm hit. Just amazing, the sky lit up in a bright flash and then BOOM. It was snowing so hard that I literally became disoriented. Congrats...you're gonna make out very well. If we combine the 2 parts, maybe your biggest storm in a few years?

Could be...depends how much mixing we see. Either way for rates alone this storm has been awesome.

Biggest storm since 2005:

11.0" - Jan 22, 2005

10.3" - Mar 4/5, 2008

10.1" - Feb 1/2, 2011

9.8" - Dec 15/16, 2007

Then a smattering of 8-9" storms

Same here driving home on M-59. I saw a little flash but nothing too spectacular. I was going 15mph. Incredible snow rates

That 0.13 vis was actually lower after the storm too....I was down to 1/16SM (0.06).
