Forecast soundings indicate a pretty straight changeover from rain to snow, though I guess a very brief period of sleet can't be ruled out or even zr if surface temps drop faster than expected.

Yeah looked at it myself. Seems to be a pretty clean rain to snow scenario to me. We'll see.

Convection continues to develop south of Mankato heading straight for the MSP metro. Quite the range in the point forecast through the end of the storm for additional 9-19" beginning this afternoon(3?).The north metro and points further north are at last getting into some better rates.

rain is rain here in Kalamazoo, MI. No freezing. Its just collecting on the roads due to the slush. When it drops below freezing an inch of rain on the roads will be fun.
