Meh,people in Fla do not live any longer than people in New England. But I agree with you cold and very old not good for some. Siberia does have some pretty old folks and so does the Arctic Circle, my point was the incessant whining especially from the young folks I heard.

Waaa, waaaa, waaaa! The same people that sit on their arses in front of the computer day after day declaring Winter over. So funny. Winter is and has been alive and well the whole time but how would they know? The ski areas are full of people enjoying Winter. The snowmobilers are all out riding on a still formidible snowpack. Quite a few people of all ages out on the lake fishing today. Loved seeing the kids sledding down a hill out onto the lake yelling and having fun. Ice skating on a patch of smooth ice. Everywhere I went today Winter enthusiasts were out living it up. All the while the do nothings sit inside and grouse that Winter is done. I think one's longevity has little to do with climate and much more to do with diet and exercise. As much as I enjoy playing golf during the off-season I'll never move to a warm climate, the change of seasons makes life sweet. Yeah, Winter's over, what horse sh*t.

Went to Grandmas for an early sausage and peppers dinner, came home and could not believe how fast this precip is flying in here. I think we start over here around 10pm, poor Kevin will miss the entire event sleeping, waa always gets in early and leaves early, should rock between 1-4.

Damn sauuuseege and peppers yummy

Now that you're back on the snow train maybe you'll reenter the clique?

Total BS, Brian's a good dude I bust his balls from time to time, clique this Harvey.

19/4, calm, looks like a 3-5" snowfall here tonight/tomorrow. That'll put me around 2 feet for the month of February so far. Another great day of Winter sports. Skiing was firm and fast, ice fishing was slow until late afternoon when the hits started coming, 1 brown, 1 rainbow. My friend took a nice Salmon just as I was leaving. They're probably still out there as they had all the night gear with them and the action was happening.

Best fishing on ice right before and couple hours after dark, be out there tomorrow in the snow.

Once the warm weather takes hold we'll be back to the same handful of regular posters. Personally, I can't wait to tell Kevin it won't hit 80 again. Over and over and over again.

28/10

radar looks fantastic off to the west, looking forward to a midnight walk amongst the dendrites with a coffee and baileys, snow and the middle of the night the most peaceful and quiet combination imaginable.

I understand the difference in lifestyles and totally understand how some people do not enjoy winter for whatever reason but what I fail to understand is cyber winter lovers. Be up early to take a walk with the pups , a big man with three little dogs and one huge 110 pounder dog and 4 leashes, quite hysterical

Nice Joe. Looking forward to a refreshing dose of snow too. Yesterday's snowfall was blown around so much it didn't give the look of uniform coverage. Looking forward to getting out in the wee hours with the headlamp on to poach a few runs before work. (Hey, see how nice I am? I didn't even mention the Jets crushing loss in Pittsburgh!) Oops.

It's not difficult to understand how some folks like to follow winter events and observe a dee snowack, but do not participate in winter sports.....I happen to be one of them.

I know he's a good guy. He's been on these boards for a long time. I'm not the one who's been busting his balls for the past month for being bearish on what has been an awful month of February.

Now Ginx.....I know you're not a fan of Gary Ley, but his forecasts have been great recently and it's a pleasure seeing a SNE mainstay return to the airwaves where he belongs.

Also pre-dawn to an hour or two after sun-up. The ice is 24+" thick, it'll be May before ice out but that's not that unusual. My Buddy took the Salmon on 4lb test jigging a Swedish Pimple. Time tested, fish approved. Didn't weigh t while I was there but probably a 8-9lb hawg.

Maybe in your neck of the woods but it's been decent here. Not the blockbuster that January was but that's a tough act to follow. Saw you comment about Ginx and I earlier today but was to busy enjoying Winter to respond. The great thing about being an optimist is you don't get thrown by a model run that shows adverse weather at d7. Winter has a long way to go Mr.Harveyleonardfan. mark my words. Big Winter incoming. Big Big Winter.

He is back? I do not get RIWX stations but then again I only watch Bob and Ryan. I have a better source for forecasts, Kevin, LOL, seriously all I need is right here and in my brain.

I think Ginx is speaking more about the guys that only think Winter is good if there is a threat on the models. Once we hit a lull they freak out and complain that Winter is over yada yada. At least you go out and walk around your 'hood to check on snow depths. You've never said someting as ridiculous as "Winter is done." All along you've maintained March would be good. I agree.

Well, I do need to get out more and I can fall into that trap, but I've been pretty good about not becoming too neurotic of late.

Jackpot too, maybe get a little of number two for an instant refresh?

Yeah this is a nice spot to be with the first wave...I would imagine from the Poconos to NYC northern suburbs to SW CT will see the higher amounts, perhaps nearing 8" at higher elevations in PA and 6" down here. I really like the look on radar and believe this event will not be a disappointment, also seems to be coming in further north than expected which is an advantage for you guys.

18z NAM looks as if it wants to expand the precip shield with the 2nd event but just misses me....we'll see if we can get it far enough north for a coating-inch here.

I'm always one to appreciate winter...I ski or snowshoe probably 1-2X every winter but am always out walking the dogs in the snow, taking pictures of every event. Historic Winter 10-11 FTW:

From ALY's AFD. Not a crippling snowstorm but a decent shot nonetheless. Every inch pushing that seasonal total up is good by me.

IN ADDITION QPF AMOUNTS

EVEN ACROSS THE SOUTHERNMOST PORTION OF THE FA LOOK TO BE UNDER

HALF AN INCH...THUS EXPECT THAT EVEN WITH SLIGHTLY HIGHER SNOW TO

LIQUID RATIOS MOST AREAS WILL SEE THE LOWER END OF THE ADVISORY

RANGE FOR AMOUNTS...MEANING THAT 3 TO 6 INCHES OF SNOW WILL BE

COMMON WITH A FEW 7 OR 8 INCH AMOUNTS POSSIBLE ACROSS THE HIGHER

TERRAIN
