mahk_webstah
I will stop. I think my views are clear. I don't like someone coming into this thread and right from the start being antagonistic. That is what buoy has done right from the post. Perhaps he should read his first 3 posts in this subforum. When that happens it pisses me off. Last post on this as i don't want to take this off thread any longer. But when the "certain people" who are referred to are good guys and participants on this board and mets...then I'm going to confront it. Sorry. Clinch Leatherwood
To quote a very knowledgeable poster: "This thread is embarrassing" Yep. Chest thumping should be saved until post event. But the blind weeniesm based on a historic month that many here will never again see in their lifetimes is just as bad. For two days people have been trying to find a way to make this a bigger deal than it is even if it was subtle. The historic month hangover will take a long time to shake off. cpickett79
nice battle right now in SE minn...SW wisconsin over heavy snow/ FZR/IP just interesting because some people forecast for possibly 12" amounts may get alot of fzr or ip instead but in such a set up like this with a narrow swath of S+ and FZR/IP on the other side .....such SH*T HAppens
scoob40
Right now, the wx tops are well-covered by the mets. Once spring and summer comes around, you have much more freedom to present thoughts that were not well discussed. It's (by far) when the most freedom comes with presenting ideas and not being flamed for it. Most people here are extremely winter orientated and not balanced as to which wx they prefer, you'll know who to ignore completely and the ones who insult ( you'll see them come out too) they are generally just unhappy types. Have to agree. If you don't toe the party line here you are personally attacked for your opinions or by one poster in particular for where you live. Why bother as it's better just to read and lurk IMO.
moneypitmike
whdh accum map congrats SW SNE 4" for the rev.... I think that 4-6" is both1) too large and 2) too heavy. I would trim the scope to include Litchfield and western Htf County SW and limite the accum to 3-5". Small adjustment, but in terms of outcome, that's what I'd expect. LOL, you troll with the best of them. Everyone here is allowed to present what they want. Your statement just above is stoking the fire even more. Instead of blunt statements like " Winter is over in Feb 2" or "We will have the March of our lives" go ahead and tell us why. I had no problem saying the end of next week will suck. If I'm wrong ...I'm wrong, but at least I said why. I mentioned yesterday that the PV may be a problem and I also did think it may tick north. If I'm wrong, then I'm wrong...but again, at least I gave my reasons. Lets wait on that before everyone cries about it. When some come on here and decide to troll or post, of course people we come back at you.

Typhoon Tip
Was there an outage over the last 24 hours - geesh. Still the same exact appeal as what I saw yesterday at this time, the GFS versus all other guidance (not so much for Monday's event)
Clinch Leatherwood
Rgem dropped the measurable further south now just barely to the MA nh border. 5mm is offshore. Rgem has been good, will be interesting to see how it does here

8611Blizz
FWIW the local tv mets are breaking it down like this for BOS, NECN has the most 3-4", BZ has the least D-1" everyone else is 1-2".

CoastalWx
GFS shifted south again. Yeah that PV is just having its way with everything. The GFS still has a good look to it in the mid levels at 12z, but it shifts everything south afterwards.

free_man
LOL, you troll with the best of them. I don't remember ever saying anything bad about you lol Trolling is a symptom of the ongoing problem - there's so much information and data going around (during the most active winter months) , that it's futile to even try to discuss it unless you have a red tag. Nearly every single independent met thought is discussed wrt events ( I've tried a few times to mention a few things that are outside the box but it's usually brain melt coming up with them) That only leaves banter like ice fishing/skiing, Idiot carton on WFAN, and people who want to troll because you present ideas that they do not want to hear (like warmth during winter, for ex) - evidence/support or not. The data has been for a warmup and much more varied pattern. DT called for an end to the "real" winter and so far has been spot-on. Yet he was slandered for saying it a month ago! HoarfrostHubb
The PV is a monster, just barrelling it's way through the continent. Laying waste to any chance of decent precip for us north of the Pike Several posters mentione this several days ago. Good call attm No one really thought more than 3-5", maybe 6", but looks like that will be confined to NW CT... GFS killing us, then rain and torch on Friday. cpickett79
scott it seemed the polar vortex was a bigger concern of yours for a few days while other's were pushing the N trend. But you still figured with a plains low and decent mid levels something was possible. but it seemed to me and i may be wrong that you were pretty skeptical of this being decent for areas outisde of SW MA ct/ from the get go. cpickett79
Here in southern new haven county, forecast is only calling for 2-5 inches between late tonight and tomorrow morning with rain in the afternoon. Nothing so much as a hazardous weather outlook is posted anymore, what a change 10 hours can make. Before I went to bed about 1 am they were calling for 3-6 inches with no change over to rain and possible advisory level snows. Now diddly squat. or diddly poo :35 sec in sorry trying to lighten things up this am. but to the CT poster i would say there is alot more potential for you to be all snow and see 3-6 ...then for bos to see 3-6. Dont worry there will be plenty of hope for the 1-3 week period just like there was for Monday a week ago right up to may. D-2 or 1-3 seems reasonable for me, points wsw into ri.
