ukrocks
It is possible that the Amish were taking shelter in the tornado warning - they were on their way to a basement to take shelter when swept off the road This is my understanding Helicopters are being requested to help search Water is 5'+ deep Yikes. Scary thought as that is only 25 miles to my west.
blackjack123
Talk about tragic and at this time of night. There may be injuries or fatalities which would be very sad news. Night time floods and tornadoes are extremely dangerous.
ukrocks
In other words, Murray was under a tornado warning. Apparently there was a spotted tornado. I was at a basketball game so I was not able to go outside and investigate. But all seemed well after the game when my buddies and I left.

SluggerWx
Tony, I think we'll find there was at least an EF-1 touchdown in Nashville metro this evening... That was SO quick that it was incredible, and IMO, the local news gave the TOR warnings way too late. Seems like they couldn't articulate what they were seeing due to the proximity to the RADAR station and the fast moving storms. All that combined with huge amounts of precip, it's just unfortunate there weren't TOR warnings issued earlier. Night storms in the south - bad news.
