Hoosier
Although I'm still a little nervous about a last minute northwest trend, I'm ready to bite on significant accumulating snows for LAF. I like a range of 5-8" right now, and if things go right, this could be our biggest snow of the season.

I recognize I am further east and a tad south of you, ultimately closer to the Low, would you think freezing rain and sleet? Haven't heard much regarding a transition zone, yet IWX indicated heavy ice south of the heavy snow.
Chicago Storm
12Z ECMWF came in with about the same track as the 0z run. It ends up being stronger than the 0z run (Sub 992mb along the OH/PA border). Looks like a bit more cold sector QPF too.

I expect a big gradient in snow amounts between here and say IND.

Powerball
Meh, it looks like the best lift will be placed just above the DGZ. Moisture's not the greatest in the DGZ either. Spitting fine flaked snows FTW!!!
Thundersnow12
most likely overdone on the north edge....plus with warm temps. that paltry QPF will melt away. warm temps....? no. If you look...the snow would be coming overnight, whats cutting down on our QPF is the dry northeasterly flow and the orientation of the LLJ being able to advect moisture up and around. It has gotten a bit better on the past few runs but not the best. warm temps........

Blizzard23
Anyone think watches will go out this afternoon? I have been telling people at work and on facebook today that watches should be posted by 4:00pm for the IWX counties. Hopefully my predictions are accurate! :-) Today's model runs seems to confirm IWX's morning concerns about this storm's snow/ice potential and warrants the issuance of watches in today's AFD update. That is my opinion though...

Yep, I love snow as much as anyone here.. But, ready to move towards some warmer temps and plain rain.. No doubt that Chicago can have all the snow for the rest of the winter.. So here's to Chicago being targeted from here on out!
