Funny...which is exactly why I changed my user name.

none of my business, but glad you changed your name since you aren't in D-ville. Even though I'm only two miles from Dahlonega, if I lived just a little further down my road my address would be Dawsonville, weird.

I've picked up 1.15 so far as of 9pm.

We need some kind of hand signal if we ever see each other in town. I have a red crew-cab F250 4wd. I think you have a truck too, maybe an F150? I remember seeing it in your webcam.

I'll keep a look out for that type of truck. I just got a new Tundra Crew Max that is grey 4x4.

Up to 1.67" so far today and currently getting dumped on with the power flickering. Thankfully I have battery back up on my PC. LOL

Surprised nobody is talking about the new 12z NAM. It's going to be very close to winter precip tomorrow morning for the foothills and northern piedmont of NC. Taken at face value, it should be a mixed bag. Also, it has increased the precip amounts considerably. Simulated radar has the bulk of the precip occurring right around 7am which would be the perfect time of day. This might just be worth keeping an eye on.

I agree, but time of year is our real problem; the 850 line is not a sure snow/rain boundary. But as you stated the early morning timing should help. Definitly interesting.

3.10" of rain here, over 9" for the month.

Wow! You're doing better than I am, .98" yesterday and .22" today (1.20") put me at 5.88" for the month. I must have been the one in the screw zone! On the CoCoRaHS maps it seems everyone around me had more. http://www.daculaweather.com/cocorahs_rain_master.php

Ugh what crappy weather the temp has actually gone down 2 degrees since daybreak and its a miserable 37 out with a breeze to boot. We got less than .25" of rain and overall this weather sucks. I have to work every other weekend and had to work last weekend ( great weather) and next weekend ( looks nice) the shad are starting to finally run on the Tar river and what happens on my weekend off.........mother nature can kiss my .............

Two years ago on this day I had a tornado pass within 300ish yards of my house. My wife remarked how windy it looked ( keep in mind I had just woke up I was working night shift), I hadnt looked at radar and there was no thunder etc. I opened the front door stepped outside and noticed debris in the air ( siding and big branches etc) heard a noise like trees snapping ( cause thats what was happening) and looked left and there it was crossing a field that use to be a trailer park. Luckily it was weak and most damage was cosmetic with no major damage done.

Here is a video shot just up the road but that is exactly what it looked like out my front door only I had a actual tight rotation all the way to the ground which only lasted 30-40 secs I bet, the tornado had lifted for the most part by the time they shot this video but the overall rotation with this thing was HUGE

Those videos werent mine they were shot about a half mile from here and on the other side from the "tornado". I was totally taken by surprise, I literally walked outside looked over and saw a tornado on the ground, I saw a small forestry building go 200-300 ft up before complete shredding and several 40-50 ft tall fir trees get uprooted and thrown several hundred yards.

This hit right where the forestry service has a firetower ( hence Firetower Rd) and several building this what is left of the one I saw go airborne I live maybe 75 yards from that lightpole you see in the background.

A better overall view of the area that was hit
