dendrite
The snow is really picking up now in this band. I'm not sure if the visibility will get low enough to verify SN/+SN, but the ratios may be nice. The wind has picked up too with gusts pushing 20mph now. When the meat and potatoes of this band comes through in the next 15-30 minutes we may dip down to the 1/2-3/4SM mark.

I have terrible eye for description, but as you can see the Snow comes in quite good. Now the flakes are not anywhere near as good. I believe an inch has fallen from the ULL. Total Snowfall: 10 inches...

I believe an inch has fallen from the ULL. Total Snowfall: 10 inches... Yeah...we have some big dendritic aggregates mixing in now with the strongest echoes. I was hoping for enough fluff to reach a foot, but it'll probably end up a bit over 11". Not bad.

dendrite
Let's get some of the good fluff on Sunday . Hopefully it's 0.25"+ QPF with snow growth like I'm getting right now. Some of these dendritic aggregates are nearing 1" wide. This would be 25-30:1 fluff if the winds weren't messing it up.

Your 8-14 verified as did my 10-15 Brian, but of course yours was better with 11 right smack in the middle. Gotta check if any lollies of 18 are showing up anywhere. This was a really nice snowstorm...all day good snow rates. I'll check tomorrow but I'm probably around 28 at the stake. A couple of pics from my snowshoeing in Boscawen. cja1987
Snoeing hard as hell in brookfield vt heading south on 89 Thats a little sweet spot there for snow. The RWIS is there for a reason, haha. If there are clouds in the sky, no matter the season, good bet you run into precip on that stretch.

I'm assuming they're $5-10k or more.

I wish I knew. I've actually been meaning to ask the DOT people here in UT about them but I'm not sure that theirs are as good as whats back in NH/VT. MaineJayhawk
Measured 11.5" when I got home. Cleared the board, shoveled, roof-raked, noticed the fluffy aggregates coming down and measured an additional 0.5" as I packed it in for the night. So an even 12.0" so far. 32" at the stake. Had to walk in the yard to shovel the deck and had a hell of a time with the walking part ... snow was up to my hips. Wish I had a camera on the drive home as it looked like a white paint bomb exploded. Trees totally pasted. Of course, the wind picked up and knocked all of the snow down but at least I was able to enjoy it for a little while.

dendrite
You did well over there Brian, I am going to wait until this last band comes thru and take my final measurement....... Yeah...not too shabby. It's been a season with many overperformers for my back yard. I can't recall another season like this...usually it feels like everyone around me ends up reporting more than I get. The only real let down was 2/5 and even that event thumped for a good 1-2hrs and then we had the thunderstorms with freezing rain.btw guys....read Scott's pinned thread and submit your snow event total so that they can be plotted. The storm ID is 102.

It was more than I was guessing as I drove home ... was thinking 8 or 9. But as soon as I got home and left the car I knew it was considerably more. Couldn't open the front door. Wasn't even certain where my snow board was. Fun stuff. Walkway to house is a trench.

I'm not sure why the amounts were lowered overnight, but everything seemed according to plan. Those 850-500 maps pegged the area again.
